Rajpal Yadav Opens Up About First Wife's Death, Second Wife's Support

Rajpal Yadav's Heartbreaking Personal Tragedy and Legal Battles

Renowned Bollywood comedian Rajpal Yadav, celebrated for his impeccable comic timing that has brought laughter to millions, recently opened up about a deeply personal tragedy from his youth. In a throwback interview with The Lallantop, the actor revealed the devastating loss he experienced when he was just 20 years old.

The Tragic Loss of First Wife Karuna

Rajpal Yadav was previously married to Karuna, who tragically passed away in 1991 during the birth of their daughter, Jyoti. Recalling that painful period, the actor shared intimate details about how his life changed overnight. "Back in the day, if you were a 20-year-old man with a job, people would ask your family to get you married. So, my father got me married," Yadav explained.

He continued with heartbreaking candor: "My first wife, she just delivered a baby, a daughter, and died. I was supposed to meet her the next day but was then carrying her dead body on my shoulders." Despite this unimaginable loss, Yadav emphasized how his family rallied around him and his newborn daughter. "Thanks to my family, my mother, my sister-in-law, it never felt like my daughter didn't have her mother. She grew up with a lot of love."

Finding Love Again with Second Wife Radha

Years later, Rajpal Yadav found love again and married Radha in 2003. The couple has two daughters named Harshita and Rehanshi. In the same interview, Yadav credited Radha for being his greatest pillar of strength and for raising Jyoti as her own daughter with exceptional dedication.

"I have never asked my wife to wear saree or anything. The way I talk to my mother, my wife talks to her the same way," Yadav shared, highlighting the deep respect within their relationship. He described how Radha embraced his cultural background: "She learnt the language. One day when I reached the village, I saw that she covered her face and sat there, because in villages women live a certain way. Whenever she visits the village during Holi and Diwali, no one can gauge that she knows five languages!"

The actor expressed profound gratitude for his wife's support: "After my guru, my parents, the one who supported me the most is my wife, 100 percent. Radha also raised the daughter I had from my first wife as her own. She is in Lucknow today, happily married, but the credit goes to my family and wife. I did nothing, I was just a medium, everything came along and helped."

Current Legal Troubles and Industry Support

While sharing these personal revelations, Rajpal Yadav is currently facing significant legal challenges related to his 2010 directorial debut Ata Pata Laapata. The film's box office failure led to financial strain and multiple cheque-bounce cases. Recently, the Delhi High Court rejected his plea seeking additional time to repay outstanding dues amounting to nearly Rs 9 crore.

The court noted that Yadav was required to pay Rs 1.35 crore in each of the seven cheque-bounce cases filed against him. Following this decision, the actor surrendered at Tihar Jail. The court directed that the amount already deposited with the registrar general be released in favor of the complainant.

The legal dispute originated in 2010 when Rajpal borrowed Rs 5 crore from M/s Murali Projects Pvt Ltd for his film. Before surrendering, Yadav stated that he had no means to repay the amount and remarked, "Everyone is on their own" in the industry when asked if he sought help from colleagues.

Despite these challenges, there has been an outpouring of support from the entertainment industry. Celebrities including Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Varun Dhawan, Sonu Sood, Guru Randhawa, and Rao Inderjeet Singh Yadav have offered financial assistance to help Rajpal repay his outstanding loan.

His bail hearing is scheduled for February 12, and according to his manager Goldie, the actor's family remains optimistic that Rajpal will be released from jail soon. This combination of personal resilience in the face of tragedy and current professional challenges paints a complex portrait of the beloved comedian's life journey.
