Priyanka Chopra Breaks Silence on Marriage Conspiracy Theories with Nick Jonas
In a candid new interview, global superstar Priyanka Chopra has once again tackled the relentless conspiracy theories and public speculation surrounding her marriage to American singer Nick Jonas. The actress opened up about the intense scrutiny their relationship has faced since their 2018 wedding, emphasizing that external noise no longer impacts their bond.
Addressing the Persistent Rumors and Public Scrutiny
Priyanka Chopra expressed bewilderment at the ongoing fascination with predicting the demise of her marriage. "We're eight years in. If people want to keep waiting for it to implode, that's their choice. I stopped thinking about it," she told Variety, dismissing the split rumors that have circulated for years.
She admitted that the initial commentary was deeply hurtful, particularly focusing on the intercultural aspects of their union. "I don't know what was it about us that rubbed people the wrong way. I think there was the intercultural nature of it — different countries, different religions, age gap. It was very hurtful," Priyanka revealed.
However, the couple has learned to shield themselves from negativity by turning inward. "And we both, instead of looking out, just sort of looked at each other, and we were like, 'It doesn't matter.' So it's like water off a duck's back now," she added, highlighting their strengthened resolve.
The Rapid Romance and Authenticity That Convinced Her
Priyanka also delved into the whirlwind nature of their courtship, which culminated in marriage within just six months of meeting. At the time, she was 36 and Nick was 26, leading to widespread age-gap chatter.
"We got married really quick, within six months of meeting. When I first married him, I didn't know if it was even real. This part of him. Because I was like this is crazy. This is put on," she confessed, reflecting on her initial doubts.
What ultimately convinced her was Nick Jonas's unwavering sincerity. "Nick has this absolute sincerity. It inspires me every day in a profession which requires you to pivot and become whatever you need to put on. He's constantly sincere. His whole day, whatever the conversation is, he is sincere," Priyanka praised.
She attributed this quality to his upbringing, noting, "He started working when he was really young. His parents are the most wonderful, levelheaded, absolute saints, so I can see where it comes from. But it's such a disarming quality about him."

Priyanka and Nick Jonas, who had both Christian and Hindu wedding ceremonies in Rajasthan, have built a strong family foundation. They welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, in January 2022, marking a new chapter in their lives.
