In his emotional post, Prateek Yadav did not mince words. He labeled Aparna Yadav a 'family destroyer' and accused her of ruining his family relationships. "I am going to divorce this selfish woman as soon as possible," he wrote forcefully. "She ruined my family ties. All she wants to become is famous and influential."

Family Background

Prateek Yadav comes from one of Uttar Pradesh's most prominent political families. He is the son of Mulayam Singh Yadav and his second wife, Sadhana Gupta. This makes him the stepbrother of current Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Unlike many other members of the Yadav family, Prateek has maintained distance from active politics. He has focused instead on business ventures, particularly in real estate and fitness entrepreneurship. He holds an MBA degree from Leeds University in London, United Kingdom.

Who is Aparna Yadav?

Aparna Yadav, originally Aparna Bisht, married Prateek Yadav in 2011. She entered politics through the Samajwadi Party, contesting the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election from Lucknow Cantonment constituency. She lost that election to BJP's Rita Bahuguna Joshi.

In a significant political shift, Aparna joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in January 2022. She publicly praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Her political career received a boost in September 2024 when she was appointed Vice Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission.
