The beverage giant Pepsi has officially withdrawn as the primary sponsor of London's Wireless Festival following significant public backlash over the decision to feature Kanye West as the headline performer. The festival, scheduled for July in north London, traditionally carries the branding "Pepsi presents Wireless," but this partnership has now been terminated.
Political Pressure Mounts Over Festival Booking
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the booking of Kanye West as "deeply concerning," specifically referencing the rapper's history of antisemitic comments. "Antisemitism in any form is abhorrent and must be confronted firmly wherever it appears," Starmer stated, emphasizing that Britain must remain a safe environment for Jewish communities.
