Pedro Pascal's Unexpected Super Bowl Cameo: A Last-Minute Surprise
In a recent interview, acclaimed actor Pedro Pascal, known for his role in 'The Last Of Us,' opened up about his surprising cameo in Bad Bunny's Super Bowl Halftime performance. Pascal revealed a startling detail: he had no idea he would be part of the show until it was about to begin, describing it as a spontaneous and unexpected addition.
A Volunteer Effort Turned Starring Role
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the Emmy-nominated actor recounted how he eagerly sought to participate in the Super Bowl event in any capacity. "I wanted to participate in any way - literally a volunteer position, like serving coffee if needed," Pascal shared. He expressed admiration for Bad Bunny, stating, "When it comes to representation synchronized with celebration there’s no one better than Benito at the moment, and that fills me with inspiration outside of just being super into his music."
Pascal explained that after contacting the singer's team without a response, he took a more direct approach. "I sent someone an email with a selfie of me sticking my tongue out, being, like, 'It’s really me.' Within 25 minutes, they called me back and they were, like, 'We want you to come to the show,'" he said. Despite this invitation, Pascal remained in the dark about his specific role, only sensing something was amiss when he arrived at the venue.
The Dancing Surprise Backstage
The actor, also set to star in 'Fantastic Four,' was taken aback when he learned he would have to dance during the performance. "So we’re up in the stands watching the game and somebody pulls me from my seat and takes me backstage and then there’s Cardi B and there’s Young Miko and Karol G and Jessica Alba," Pascal detailed. He was given minimal instructions, with the team simply telling him, "Okay, so the vibe is: you’re dancing." This revelation came as a complete shock, as he had only been informed that the theme was 'beige.'
Pascal was among several high-profile celebrities featured in Bad Bunny's performance, which included:
- Cardi B
- Young Miko
- Karol G
- Jessica Alba
- Ricky Martin
- Lady Gaga
- Alix Earle
- Dave Grutman
- Ronald Acuña Jr.
Reflecting on the experience, Pascal emphasized the fun and spontaneity of the moment, highlighting how it added to the excitement of the globally watched event. His story underscores the unpredictable nature of live entertainment and the behind-the-scenes surprises that can unfold in major productions.
