Music Composer Palash Muchhal Files ₹10 Crore Defamation Case Against Vidnyan Mane
Renowned music composer Palash Muchhal has taken legal action by filing a defamation case against actor-producer Vidnyan Mane, who claims to be a friend of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana. The lawsuit seeks substantial damages of ₹10 crore over allegations of cheating and defamatory statements made by Mane.
Legal Notice and Muchhal's Response
Palash Muchhal has firmly denied all accusations leveled against him. He took to his Instagram stories to address the situation, stating that his lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, has sent a legal notice for defamation to Vidnyan Mane. In his statement, Muchhal emphasized that the allegations are false, outrageous, and highly defamatory, crafted with the deliberate intention to damage his reputation and character.
Muchhal further clarified his stance in an official statement, asserting that the claims made by Mane are entirely baseless and factually incorrect. He highlighted that these allegations have been propagated with malicious intent to tarnish his image and assured that they will not go unchallenged. His legal team is actively exploring all available legal avenues to address this matter through appropriate channels.
Vidnyan Mane's Allegations
Vidnyan Mane recently spoke to Hindustan Times, making several serious accusations against Palash Muchhal. He claimed that Muchhal cheated him of ₹40 lakh in connection with funding an unreleased film. According to Mane, a formal complaint has already been filed in Sangli, Maharashtra, regarding this financial dispute.
Mane also made startling claims about Muchhal's personal life, alleging that the composer was caught cheating and physically assaulted by friends of the cricketer during wedding celebrations. He described a chaotic scene where Muchhal was allegedly discovered with another woman, leading to a physical altercation. Additionally, Mane accused Muchhal's family of financial misconduct, stating that they demanded an additional investment of ₹10 lakh under threat of exclusion from the film project.
Background: Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana's Wedding
The controversy stems from the planned wedding between Palash Muchhal and Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana, which was scheduled for November 23, 2025. The main wedding ceremony was abruptly postponed at the last minute following pre-wedding celebrations. Reports indicate that Mandhana's father was hospitalized around that time, and Muchhal was also admitted to a hospital before returning to Mumbai.
Amid these developments, rumors began circulating that Palash Muchhal had cheated on Smriti Mandhana with the wedding choreographer. In response, Mandhana issued a statement clarifying that the wedding had been called off, while Muchhal expressed his decision to move on from the personal relationship, lamenting the spread of baseless rumors about what he considered a sacred matter.
The defamation case now adds a legal dimension to this already complex personal and public dispute, with both parties preparing for a potentially lengthy legal battle over reputation and damages.
