In a revealing interview, actress Olivia Munn has shared a troubling experience from a film set, where a male co-star halted production for nearly an hour because he refused to have his character saved by a woman. "If you read the script, he was guarding his side, I was guarding my side, then we switched sides and then there's a guy coming for him [who] was going to shoot him in the back, so I shoot him," Munn recalled. However, when it came time to shoot, the co-star suddenly objected, exclaiming, "Wait, wait, wait. Hold on. She can't save me. No, no. She can't save me." According to Munn, he had apparently not reviewed the script thoroughly beforehand, leading to the unexpected outburst.

The situation escalated as the co-star became "combative with the director" and insisted on stopping filming. Munn noted that he showed "no insecurity about being obnoxious and everyone hearing this," demanding changes to the scene. After approximately 45 minutes of delay, Munn intervened with a compromise suggestion.
"OK, how about instead of my character saving you, it's just that we switch because it's time for us to switch and so this is my guy to get," she proposed. The co-star reluctantly agreed, allowing production to resume.
