Fan Reactions and Iconic Comparisons
The internet erupted with praise for Nayanthara's powerful look. Many fans on social media drew parallels between her character Ganga and her iconic role as Sasha from the 2007 blockbuster Billa, starring Ajith Kumar. Comments flooded in, with one fan declaring it "Billa Sasha 2.0!" while others expressed their long-held anticipation, stating, "Have been waiting for this for a while" and "Couldn’t get any bigger and better."
Director Geetu Mohandas on Casting Nayanthara
Director Geetu Mohandas opened up about casting the celebrated actress, revealing a deep connection between Nayanthara and the character. In a statement quoted by Hindustan Times, Mohandas said, "I wanted to portray Nayan in a way that she’s never been showcased before. But as the shoot progressed, I began to see how closely her own personality echoed the soul of the character. It wasn’t imitation, it was alignment. I found my Ganga, so brilliantly performed by her, and even more unexpectedly, I found a dear friend."
Nayanthara's look follows the earlier reveals of her co-stars. The makers had previously released first-look posters of Kiara Advani as Nadia and Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth.
