Choreographer Breaks Silence on False Allegations
Professional choreographer Nandika Dwivedi has issued a powerful statement denying any involvement in the postponed wedding of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palaash Muchhal. The ceremony, which was reportedly delayed due to Mandhana's father being hospitalized, became the subject of intense social media speculation, with unverified claims dragging Dwivedi and fellow choreographer Gulnaaz Khan into the controversy.
'Assumptions About Me Are Not True'
Addressing the rumors directly, Nandika took to Instagram on Friday to clarify that she has no connection to the couple's personal matters. 'Over the past few days, I've seen speculation about my involvement in a situation that has been deeply personal for other people,' she wrote in her emotional post.
The choreographer emphasized that the emerging narrative has been 'extremely painful' to watch, particularly as false stories gained traction online without any factual basis. She expressed distress at seeing how quickly unsubstantiated claims spread across social media platforms.
Escalating Harassment and Mental Health Impact
Nandika revealed that the situation has escalated beyond mere rumors, with the online harassment reaching threatening levels. 'I had been receiving threats which family members could see, and that's why I had made my account private,' she disclosed in her statement.
The choreographer also criticized media outlets for amplifying Reddit gossip without proper verification, stating that the false accusations have taken a significant toll on her mental health. 'Please understand, this will not be easy for me to come out of, I cannot be falsely accused anymore,' she pleaded with her followers and the media.
Dwivedi made an emotional appeal, highlighting her journey and sacrifices to establish herself in Mumbai's competitive entertainment industry. She urged everyone to stop spreading rumors and dragging her name into the situation, expressing confidence that 'eventually, the truth will find its way.'
Other Parties Involved and Wedding Status
Earlier, choreographer Gulnaaz Khan had also released a similar statement denying any role in the couple's difficulties and urging people not to spread misinformation.
Amid the swirling speculation, Palaash Muchhal's mother, Amita Muchhal, provided reassurance to fans about the wedding's status. She confirmed that both Smriti and Palaash are emotionally affected but remain committed to their union. 'Smriti and Palaash dono takleef mein hain... Everything will be fine, shaadi bahut jaldi hogi,' she told Hindustan Times, indicating that the wedding would happen soon despite the current challenges.
The situation highlights the damaging impact of social media speculation on individuals' personal and professional lives, particularly when unverified claims gain momentum without factual foundation.
