Nagarjuna's Annapurna Studios hires colourist Andreas Brueckl

In a significant move to bolster its creative and technical prowess, the Hyderabad-based Annapurna Studios, owned by veteran actor and filmmaker Nagarjuna, has announced a key international appointment. The production house has brought on board the globally acclaimed senior colourist, Andreas Brueckl, to join its team.

Andreas Brueckl's Expertise and New Role

The studio made the official announcement on Tuesday via a press release. Andreas Brueckl brings over 20 years of extensive experience in the film industry, having worked across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Los Angeles. At Annapurna Studios, he will work in close collaboration with both the creative and technical teams. His work will be guided by the studio's chief technology officer, CV Rao.

A Portfolio of Acclaimed Indian and International Projects

Brueckl is no stranger to the Indian cinematic landscape. He has lent his colour grading expertise to several high-profile and critically acclaimed projects. His notable work in Indian cinema includes popular series and films such as 'Paatal Lok', 'Sacred Games', 'Delhi Crime', 'Jailer', and 'Maidaan'. His international collaborations further enrich his diverse portfolio, making him a valuable asset for a studio with global ambitions.

Expressing her enthusiasm about the new hire, Supriya Yarlagadda, the Executive Director of Annapurna Studios, highlighted the studio's commitment to creative excellence. She stated that partnering with top-tier global talent has always been central to their vision. "We are pleased to welcome Andreas Brueckl, whose expertise will strengthen and enrich our team," Yarlagadda said. "With a strong and accomplished team already in place, his perspective across international projects and Indian cinema will further expand our capabilities."

Annapurna Studios and Nagarjuna's Current Trajectory

This strategic hiring comes at a time when Annapurna Studios is actively expanding its footprint. The move signals a strong focus on enhancing post-production quality and technical finesse. Meanwhile, the studio's founder, Nagarjuna, continues his successful acting career. He was recently seen in the pan-India blockbuster 'Coolie', starring Rajinikanth and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film, which released on Independence Day, reportedly grossed over Rs 518 crore worldwide. Nagarjuna is now gearing up for his milestone 100th film, tentatively titled 'King100'.

The addition of a professional of Brueckl's calibre is a clear indication that Annapurna Studios is investing heavily in top-end talent to compete on both a national and international level, aiming to deliver visually stunning and technically superior content to audiences.
