Singer Mangli Apologizes as 'Sarke Chunar' Song Pulled After Backlash
Mangli Apologizes, New Version of 'Sarke Chunar' Coming

Controversial Song 'Sarke Chunar' Removed After Public Outrage and Official Notices

The Kannada film industry has found itself embroiled in a significant controversy following the release of the song 'Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke' from the upcoming movie 'KD: The Devil'. The track, which faced immediate and severe backlash for its perceived vulgar lyrics and visuals, has now been completely removed from all digital and streaming platforms. This decisive action comes after numerous public complaints and formal interventions by state and national commissions.

Official Bodies Issue Notices Over Song Content

The backlash was not limited to social media outrage. The Women's Commissions of both Haryana and Karnataka formally raised serious concerns regarding the song's content, citing its potential to offend public decency and disrespect cultural sentiments. Escalating the matter further, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued an official notice, demanding an explanation from the filmmakers and music producers. The collective pressure from these authoritative bodies left the production team with little choice but to withdraw the song entirely to avoid legal complications and further public relations damage.

Singer Mangli Issues Public Apology and Announces Corrected Version

In response to the escalating situation, the song's vocalist, singer Mangli, took to her social media platforms to address the controversy directly. She posted a heartfelt apology, expressing deep regret for the unintended offense caused.

"Out of respect for public sentiment, the song has been removed from all platforms. I sincerely apologise to each and every one of you for the unintended mistake. It was never meant to hurt anyone's sentiments, and we truly regret the oversight," Mangli stated in her post.

Importantly, Mangli did not leave the matter at an apology. She provided a constructive path forward, revealing that a revised version of the song is already in the works. "The corrected version of the lyrics has now been updated, and the revised version of the song will be released today evening. We assure you that such a situation will not arise again," she added. The singer also thanked the film's makers and composer for their support during this challenging period. Notably, she turned off comments on her apology post to prevent further online harassment.

Nora Fatehi Clarifies Her Involvement in the Controversy

The controversy also ensnared Bollywood actress and dancer Nora Fatehi, who features in the song's visuals alongside veteran actor Sanjay Dutt. Fatehi released a video statement to clarify her position and distance herself from the lyrical controversy.

"On a side note, I see some of you guys trying to use this as an opportunity to attack my character…it's unfortunate. Anyways, me and my team will be more careful in the future in such situations. However, I do want to reiterate that I had no idea about this Hindi song. I did not perform to it and there was no permission taken to use it with my image," Fatehi explained.

She elaborated that her involvement was strictly for the Kannada version, filmed three years ago. "I shot this song three years ago in a language called Kannada. I said yes because it was part of a big film. It was with a big icon, Sanjay Dutt—who would say no to working with him?" Fatehi emphasized her reliance on the production team's translation, stating, "Nothing seemed inappropriate or vulgar when they were translating the song to me. I don't understand Kannada, so I was relying on what they told me."

Complete Removal and Film Details

As a result of the widespread condemnation, all language versions of the song—including Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu—have been scrubbed from music streaming services and video platforms. The film 'KD: The Devil' is a major Kannada production directed by Prem and boasts a star-studded cast including Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, and Shilpa Shetty. Despite this prerelease controversy, the film remains scheduled for a theatrical release on April 30, 2026. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the heightened sensitivity around content in today's digital age and the swift accountability demanded by audiences and regulatory bodies alike.
