Manav Gohil Processes Dhurandhar 2's Monumental Box Office Triumph
As Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge continues to dominate the global box office with an astounding Rs. 519 crore collection in just five days, actor Manav Gohil is opening up about the incredible journey of being part of this cinematic phenomenon. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar and featuring a star-studded cast including Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Dutt, has set new benchmarks for Indian cinema, and Gohil admits he is still grappling with the overwhelming response.
Overwhelmed by the Global Frenzy
In an exclusive conversation, Gohil revealed that the magnitude of the success has not fully sunk in yet. "I'll be very honest. No, it hasn't sunk in. Even as we speak, I'm still getting to know the scale of this film's impact," he shared. The actor, who portrays a sharp intelligence officer, described receiving an unprecedented number of congratulatory calls from fans in Canada and North America, surpassing even birthday celebrations. "People are so excited and proud, not just of me, but of the entire film. It's truly overwhelming," Gohil added, emphasizing the collective joy beyond personal achievement.
A Spontaneous Casting Journey
Gohil's entry into Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge was anything but conventional. Recalling the moment, he explained that it happened without auditions or detailed discussions. "I was holidaying with my family in Mussoorie when Mukesh called and asked if I had dates. I said yes, and he simply said, 'Bangkok jaana hai.' That was it," Gohil recounted. He admitted to knowing nothing about the film, director, or role initially, making the experience bizarre yet serendipitous. With limited preparation time, he relied heavily on director Aditya Dhar's guidance, joking that his prep was "like noodles on the go." Dhar advised him to keep the character intellectual, calm, and composed, focusing on subtle cues to embody an intelligence officer's sharp mindset.
Learning from Co-Stars Ranveer Singh and R. Madhavan
Sharing screen space with Ranveer Singh provided Gohil with insights into the actor's versatile performance. He observed Singh's restrained yet intimidating portrayal as Hamza, noting how his presence alone commanded attention. "Later, during training scenes, I saw a completely different side—a boy seeking validation, which transitioned into a raw, lethal force over time," Gohil described. Working alongside R. Madhavan was equally enriching, with Gohil praising his intelligence and perceptiveness. "Madhavan suggested small tweaks during readings, like changing a word or letting me say a line. He's been like an elder brother, offering guidance and support," he said, highlighting the strong bond they formed on set.
Dhurandhar 2's Record-Breaking Impact
Released on March 19, 2026, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has not only raked in over Rs. 519 crore but is also expected to set new records for Indian cinema. The film's success underscores its viral global appeal, with Gohil still "counting his blessings" as it continues to captivate audiences worldwide. This blockbuster serves as a testament to the power of spontaneous collaborations and dedicated storytelling in the entertainment industry.
