"Pressure is an inherent part of showbiz, but I believe ageism has been most brutal to women," Manasi stated emphatically. "An actress is constantly expected to look her absolute best at all times, and this expectation is often taken for granted without consideration for natural biological processes."
The actress, who recently returned to television with the show Mahadev and Sons, explained that performers frequently make multiple sacrifices to remain relevant in the long run. She views her current project as representing a small but significant shift in how women are portrayed on Indian television screens.

Manasi, known for her role in Ghum Hai Kisike Pyaar Mein, believes Indian television has long confined women to restrictive emotional spaces. "The content on TV mostly brings in just two flavors—a positive woman and a negative woman," she observed critically.
"Pehli aurat and dusri aurat have been our canvas for a good twenty years now," Manasi continued. "While we take pride in presenting the all-cultured protagonist, we equally demean our gender by showing the other woman as filled with jealousy, envy, and crass behavior, often without proper agenda or backstory."
According to the actress, television being primarily a writer's medium makes these half-baked characterizations even more disappointing. "Having a vile antagonist just for the sake of ratings and numbers represents a convoluted approach to storytelling," she asserted.
Exploring New Platforms and Mediums
Regarding her professional aspirations, Manasi expressed enthusiasm about exploring diverse platforms. "I am completely open to every medium—television, OTT platforms, films—within the boundaries of my work ethics and personal conditions," she revealed.
"I work diligently, and with Mahadevi's blessings along with my audience's unwavering love, the support has remained consistently steady throughout my journey," the actress added gratefully.
Parenting Beyond Gender Boundaries
On the personal front, Manasi Salvi is a single mother to her daughter Omisha, and she shared profound insights about parenting responsibilities. "Single, double, triple—it's completely irrespective of the family structure," she explained thoughtfully.
"I brought Omisha into this world, so it's my unsaid responsibility to support her with everything material and immaterial," Manasi stated. She drew inspiration from her own father, who was the single earning member of their family and helped both her and her sister stand firmly on their feet emotionally and financially.
"Gender doesn't matter. Being a parent does," she emphasized powerfully. "Just as I continue to rely on my father even today, I have made an unsaid promise to my daughter that the doors of my home will always remain open for her, and I will stand by her unconditionally if she ever stumbles in life."
