Madhuri Dixit Nene celebrated Makar Sankranti in 2019 with a heartfelt family throwback on Instagram. She discovered the old photograph while browsing her phone gallery. The image captured a simple yet precious moment from the past.
A Festive Memory Shared
The candid snapshot shows Madhuri standing with her two sons, Arin and Raayan Nene, during their younger years. Colorful kites are visible in the background, hinting at a Makar Sankranti celebration. Fans quickly noticed the post and showered it with praise on social media.
Madhuri accompanied the photo with a warm caption. She wrote, "Just saw this old picture while scrolling through my phone gallery and it brought a smile on my face! Can't put in words how much I love celebrating festivals with my kids and family. Wishing you all a Happy Makar Sankranti. Have a great time with your loved ones and may you all stay blessed forever."
Her Sons' Diverse Paths
Madhuri married Dr. Shriram Madhav Nene in 1999. Their elder son, Arin, was born in 2003. Raayan followed in 2005. In a recent interview with Mid-day, Madhuri opened up about their career choices.
Arin Nene initially showed some interest in films. However, his true passion lies in music. Madhuri explained, "The older guy had some inklings of maybe wanting to be in movies, but I think his passion is music. So, he produces his music and he does all that."
He balanced creativity with academics during his education. "Even in school, he has done music as minor and CS engineering as the major," she shared. Arin has now graduated and works at Apple. "He produces his own music… and is currently involved in projects related to noise cancellation," Madhuri added.
Raayan Nene, the younger son, has taken a different route. He is currently studying at the University of Southern California (USC). His interests lean strongly towards science and technology. "The younger one is a STEM guy. He is into technology and engineering, math, he is amazing though," Madhuri told Mid-day.
No Forced Distance from Films
When asked if she deliberately kept her children away from the film industry, Madhuri was direct. "I didn't really keep them away. I have taken them when they wanted to come with me, and if they didn't, I respected that," she stated.
While Madhuri continues her work in films and OTT platforms, including her series 'Mrs. Deshpande', her sons are building their lives outside the spotlight. The old Makar Sankranti photo serves as a beautiful reminder of time passing and family bonds enduring.
