Judge Mandates Parenting Therapy for Kim Zolciak in Ongoing Custody Dispute
The contentious custody battle between former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak and retired NFL player Kroy Biermann has taken a new legal turn. A Georgia judge has issued a specific mandate requiring Zolciak to attend parenting therapy sessions as part of a temporary custody arrangement.
Court-Ordered Therapy Sessions and Custody Conditions
Cobb County Superior Court Judge Kellie S. Hill presented a detailed temporary parenting plan that includes four mandatory parent therapy sessions for Zolciak. The court established a strict timeline for completion, giving the reality television personality only from April 3 to April 13 to attend all required sessions.
The order clearly states that "All four children shall remain in the Father's physical custody" until their mother successfully completes every mandated therapy appointment. Court officials will implement a verification process to confirm Zolciak's attendance at all sessions.
Once Zolciak fulfills the therapy requirement, the previous court-ordered parenting plan will resume operation. The existing arrangement "otherwise remains in full force and effect until further agreement and/or modification by this Court," according to the official documentation.
Background of the Custody Conflict and Previous Agreements
This latest development follows Zolciak's admission that she missed several counseling sessions that were part of an earlier agreement. In January, both parents signed a temporary custody arrangement that required them to attend two counseling sessions monthly for two months, followed by one session per month thereafter.
Zolciak reportedly failed to attend sessions between February 26 and March 28, citing filming obligations as the reason for her absence. The television personality has publicly addressed the situation, emphasizing that she has not permanently lost custody of her children.
"For the avoidance of any doubt, I have not lost custody of my children, nor has there been any modification to the custody agreement outside of the agreed-upon temporary order," Zolciak stated in response to the court's latest mandate.
Relationship History and Legal Proceedings
The former couple's relationship timeline includes:
- Approximately 12 years of marriage before divorce proceedings began
- Initial divorce filing by Zolciak in 2023
- Subsequent custody petition filed by Biermann seeking sole custody of their four children
- Ongoing legal negotiations and court appearances regarding parenting arrangements
This case represents another high-profile celebrity custody dispute playing out in the public eye, with both parties navigating complex legal requirements while managing their public personas and professional commitments.
