Following the monumental success of the KGF franchise, superstar Yash has become one of the most sought-after names in Indian cinema. The excitement around his next project, the highly anticipated film Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, has reached a fever pitch. Adding to the buzz, the makers unveiled the first look poster of leading actress Kiara Advani from the film on Sunday.
A Glamorous Yet Layered Reveal
Kiara Advani's first look from Toxic has been widely described as captivating and complex. In the poster, she is seen portraying the character Nadia, appearing glamorous under a stark, circus-style spotlight. However, a closer inspection reveals a much deeper narrative. Subtly etched into her expression are layers of grief, sadness, and inner turmoil, hinting at the emotional depth of her role. This reveal is particularly special as Toxic will mark Kiara's first film release after the birth of her daughter, Saraayah Malhotra.
Family Support and Directorial Praise
The poster immediately garnered love from across the industry, most notably from Kiara's husband, actor Sidharth Malhotra. Showing his admiration and support, Sidharth took to Instagram and shared the poster with the caption, "I know the work that went behind this… super excited for this one, Ki! Big love."
Director Geetu Mohandas also expressed immense pride in Kiara's performance. In an Instagram post, Mohandas reflected, "Some performances don’t just belong to a film; they redefine an artist. What Kiara created on screen in this film is nothing short of transformative. As a director, I am deeply proud of her and for the performance she has delivered, and for the faith and heart she brought into our shared journey."
The Grand Release and Box Office Clash
Toxic is a multi-lingual project, shot in English and Kannada, and will be dubbed into several major Indian languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. The film is slated for a grand theatrical release on March 19, 2026, strategically coinciding with the festive period of Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa.
The release landscape for the film has shifted. Initially expected to clash with Ajay Devgn's Dhamaal, Toxic will now face competition from another major release. It is set to go head-to-head with Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar's second installment of Dhurandhar. The first part of Dhurandhar is currently running successfully in theaters, having crossed the notable Rs 500 crore mark in just 16 days, setting the stage for a major box office battle in 2026.
