Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 Begins Filming: Original Cast Reunites After 18 Years
Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 Shoot Starts with Original Cast

The beloved chaos of the Khosla family is officially returning to the big screen. Nearly two decades after the cult classic 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' charmed audiences in 2006, filming has commenced for its long-awaited sequel. The original cast, including veterans Anupam Kher and Kiran Juneja alongside Tara Sharma Saluja, Parvinn Dabbass, and Ranvir Shorey, has reunited, sparking waves of nostalgia among fans.

Nostalgia and New Adventures on Set in Gurgaon

Cameras started rolling in Gurgaon, recreating the familiar warmth and humorous turmoil of the Khosla household. The excitement was palpable as the actors came together for the first day of the shoot. Tara Sharma Saluja captured this sentimental moment by sharing a cheerful selfie on Instagram with co-stars Anupam Kher, Parvinn Dabbass, and Kiran Juneja.

In her post, she expressed the joy of the reunion, writing, "And it begins... #khoslakaghosla 2…shooting with many from our KKG 1 fam and some new. Nostalgia and new adventures." She added that it was great to reunite with many, while missing those not present, and looked forward to creating another film for the audience to love. She described her first day on set as pure joy, promising more updates as the release approaches.

Fresh Faces and a New Creative Team Take the Helm

The sequel is not just a reunion; it's also an expansion. In a significant casting addition, popular actor Ravi Kishan has joined the ensemble. Anupam Kher welcomed him with open arms and a heartfelt social media post, calling Kishan a "BRILLIANT ACTOR AND A GREAT HUMAN BEING." Kher expressed his extreme happiness at having his dear friend join the cast, praising Kishan's calm, humble, and compassionate nature.

However, the sequel comes with notable changes behind the camera. Director Dibakar Banerjee and writer Jaideep Sahni, the creative forces behind the original film, are not involved in this chapter. Producer Savita Raj Hiremath explained to Mid-Day that while expectations are high, good things take time. She revealed that her team has written the story this time.

The directorial responsibilities have been entrusted to ad filmmaker Prashant Bhagia, chosen for his simplicity. Despite these shifts, Hiremath assured that the core essence of the film remains untouched. "When we say KKG we mean there is something more about the ghosla that matters a lot to the Khoslas," she stated, emphasizing that the heart of the story—the emotional value of the home—is still intact.

This blend of cherished original cast members, a valuable new addition in Ravi Kishan, and a fresh creative vision sets the stage for 'Khosla Ka Ghosla 2'. The project aims to deliver the same relatable family humor and chaos that made the first film a landmark in Indian comedy, while hopefully carving its own successful path nearly 18 years later.
