Kangana Ranaut Celebrates BJP's BMC Win, Hits Out at Uddhav Thackeray
Kangana Ranaut Slams Uddhav Thackeray After BJP's BMC Victory

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has launched a sharp attack on Uddhav Thackeray following the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance's triumph in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections. The BMC, previously controlled by the undivided Shiv Sena, demolished Ranaut's bungalow in 2020. This makes the BJP's win a personal victory for the outspoken actor.

Kangana's Fiery Statement

In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Kangana Ranaut did not hold back her feelings. She stated clearly, "For those who abused me, demolished my house, called me names, and threatened me to leave Maharashtra, today Maharashtra has quit them." Her words carried a tone of vindication and relief.

Celebrating the Saffron Sweep

The Manikarnika actor expressed sheer delight over the election results. She said, "I am absolutely thrilled with the BJP's landslide victory in the Maharashtra BMC election. I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ji, and the entire BJP family of Maharashtra for this incredible saffron sweep all the way."

Ranaut also added a pointed remark about her opponents. "I am glad such women-haters, bullies, and nepotism mafia are being shown their right place by the janta janardan," she declared. Her comments highlight the deep personal and political stakes involved.

BMC Polls Reshape Mumbai Politics

The election results have dramatically altered the political landscape of Mumbai. The BJP secured 89 seats in the 227-member BMC. This victory ends the Thackeray family's three-decade dominance over India's richest municipal body.

Other parties faced mixed fortunes. The BJP's ally, Shiv Sena, won 29 seats. Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) managed 65 seats, while the MNS got 6. The Congress, allied with Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, bagged 24 seats. AIMIM secured 8, NCP 3, Samajwadi Party 2, and NCP (SP) just one seat.

BJP's Dominance Across Maharashtra

The BJP's success extended far beyond Mumbai. The party emerged as the single largest party in multiple key civic bodies across Maharashtra. This demonstrates a strong saffron wave throughout the state.

In Navi Mumbai, the BJP won 65 seats. Kalyan-Dombivli gave them 50 seats, while Mira-Bhayandar awarded 78. Nashik saw 72 seats going to the BJP, and Panvel contributed 55. Pune witnessed a stunning performance with 119 seats for the BJP, leaving Ajit Pawar's NCP far behind with only 27.

Other notable victories include Pimpri-Chinchwad with 84 seats, Solapur with 87, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar with 57, Nanded with 45, and Nagpur with an impressive 102 seats out of 151. In Nagpur, the Congress managed a mere 34 seats, highlighting the BJP's overwhelming strength.

Nashik's results further cemented this trend. The BJP bagged 72 seats there, followed by Shiv Sena with 26, Shiv Sena (UBT) with 15, Congress with 3, and NCP with 4. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar also followed suit, with the BJP winning 57 seats, Shiv Sena 15, Congress 1, and other parties like AIMIM securing 33 seats.

These results mark a significant shift in Maharashtra's municipal politics. The BJP's strategic gains have reshaped power dynamics, much to the delight of supporters like Kangana Ranaut.
