Kangana Ranaut Slams AR Rahman and Masaba Gupta Over Prejudice

Kangana Ranaut has once again stirred controversy with her bold statements on social media. The actress, known for her outspoken nature, reacted sharply to recent comments made by music composer AR Rahman.

AR Rahman's Comments Spark Debate

In a recent interview, AR Rahman suggested that Bollywood has become communal over the past eight years. He hinted this shift might explain why he receives less work in the industry now.

Rahman clarified he never directly experienced this discrimination. However, he heard about it through others. The composer explained that a power shift occurred in Bollywood. People who lack creative vision now hold influence.

"Maybe it's a communal thing," Rahman said. "But it doesn't confront me directly. I hear whispers that they booked you, but then the music company hired five other composers instead."

He expressed contentment with his current situation. "I say good. I have more time to relax with my family. I don't search for work. I want work to find me through my sincerity."

Kangana's Fiery Response

Kangana Ranaut responded strongly to Rahman's remarks. She called him "the most prejudiced man" and shared her own experiences with him.

The actress revealed she desperately wanted to narrate her directorial film 'Emergency' to Rahman. She said he refused to even meet her for the project.

"I was told you don't want to be part of a propaganda film," Kangana wrote on her Instagram stories. "Ironically, 'Emergency' received praise from all critics. Even opposition party leaders sent me fan letters appreciating the film's balanced approach."

She expressed disappointment in Rahman. "You are blinded by your hate. I feel sorry for you."

Designer Drama with Masaba Gupta

Kangana also shared a painful incident involving designer Masaba Gupta. This happened when she needed a saree for the Ram Janmbhoomi event in Ayodhya.

"Masaba told my stylist that I can't go to Ram Janmbhoomi in her saree," Kangana revealed. "I had already left from Lucknow for Ayodhya. Changing outfits became impossible at that point."

The actress described feeling deeply humiliated. "I quietly cried in my car. Later, like other designers, she told my stylist not to mention her or her brand's name."

Kangana emphasized their previous closeness. "I was such good friends with Masaba that I even danced at her wedding. I have never performed at my own sister's wedding, but in 2016, I performed at Masaba's wedding."

Broader Industry Patterns

The actress pointed to broader patterns in the industry. She mentioned how designers who once begged her to launch their products suddenly stopped supporting her.

"Big designers claimed to be my best friends during free promotional campaigns," Kangana said. "Later, they refused to send clothes to my stylist. They stopped talking to me or posting about me."

She questioned Rahman's recent statements. "Today AR Rahman ji sheds crocodile tears. What about their own hate and prejudices?"

Rahman's Film Comments

During the same interview, Rahman also commented on the film 'Chhaava.' He called it a divisive film but expressed honor in scoring music for a project about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

The music composer maintains his artistic integrity while acknowledging industry challenges. His comments have opened a broader conversation about inclusivity and creative freedom in Bollywood.

Kangana's revelations highlight ongoing tensions within the entertainment industry. Her personal experiences shed light on complex dynamics affecting artists and creators today.
