Javed Akhtar's Powerful Emotional Response to '120 Bahadur'
Ahead of its theatrical release, the upcoming war film '120 Bahadur' has already managed to evoke a deeply emotional response from one of Indian cinema's most respected figures. Actor Farhan Akhtar, during a recent conversation with director Razneesh Ghai and producer Ritesh Sidhwani, revealed the moving reaction of his father, the legendary writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar, to the film.
A Father's Tears Speak Volumes
When asked about his father's opinion after viewing the trailer, Farhan Akhtar disclosed that Javed Akhtar had, in fact, seen the complete film. "He loved it," Farhan stated simply, before elaborating on the profound impact the movie had on his father. He shared that Javed Akhtar is not a person who is easily moved to tears while watching films, making his reaction to '120 Bahadur' all the more significant.
"He's seen the film. He's seen the film in an edit as well. He was very moved," Farhan recounted. "He's not somebody who cries very easily when he's watching a film. But he was very, very teary and very, very choked up at the end. So we really felt like we've managed to do something." This powerful and unexpected display of emotion from the veteran poet and screenwriter meant a great deal to the entire cast and crew, serving as a strong validation of their hard work.
Zoya Akhtar's Upcoming Screening
The Akhtar family's engagement with the film continues, as Farhan also provided an update on his sister, acclaimed filmmaker Zoya Akhtar. He revealed that she has not yet seen '120 Bahadur' but is scheduled to watch it on November 19th alongside other members of the Indian film industry. This special screening is likely to generate further buzz for the film just days before its public release.
