"I choose my projects with great care and consideration," Harsh Mayar explains. "Whether it is Aadha Full, Gullak, or my film One Two Cha Cha Chaa, my roles have consistently maintained a strong presence and narrative importance. I consciously avoid labeling myself by genre or category. A project might be classified as a comedy or a drama, but that classification does not limit my capabilities as an actor. I firmly believe in my own versatility, and that fundamental belief actively guides all my professional choices."
Humble Beginnings and Theatrical Foundation
Reflecting on his formative years, Harsh Mayar openly acknowledges the striking contrast between his modest beginnings and the early recognition he received. His entry into the world of acting originated through workshops and theatre, supported by dedicated family members and mentors. He recalls with clarity, "When I initiated my acting journey, it began with a single workshop. At that particular time, my parents could not afford the required fee, so my uncle stepped in to assist me financially. Following that initial opportunity, I trained extensively with various theatre groups, and eventually, I reached a point where I didn't have to pay for training anymore. I also began working consistently in theatre, which played an absolutely crucial role in shaping my skills and artistic perspective. Looking back now, it certainly feels like a long and winding journey, but I don't believe that journey alone defines you as a person or professional."
"Everyone encounters struggles and challenges in life, and I personally prefer not to focus excessively on those aspects. I believe some experiences are deeply personal and don't always need to be shared publicly. What matters more fundamentally is the work you choose to do and how honestly and authentically you execute that work. Reaching a point where your sustained hard work finally pays off is an incredibly good feeling, and I remain genuinely grateful for that achievement."
National Award and Maintaining Perspective
Winning a National Award at an age when most children are still discovering their identities did not fundamentally alter how Harsh Mayar views his professional and personal journey. He elaborates thoughtfully, "I don't believe in carrying that kind of external pressure in my daily life. I am a human being first and foremost, and I can certainly make mistakes like anyone else. Some projects work exceptionally well with audiences, and some may not resonate as strongly. You never truly know the outcome in advance. That being said, it remains vitally important for me to select good, meaningful, and substantial projects. However, I don't believe an award, no matter how prestigious, should define your entire life or career trajectory. For me, the National Award represented appreciation for my specific work at that time, not a lifelong responsibility to carry forever."
Philosophy of Work and Equality
He adds further insight into his professional philosophy, "My journey has taught me invaluable lessons about life and artistry, but I am not someone who is overly ambitious in a conventional sense. I simply love my work with genuine passion. Acting, dancing, and singing are the only pursuits I have ever been profoundly interested in, and the entertainment industry is the space where I feel most authentically at home. I believe in doing my work with complete honesty and giving my absolute best effort every single time. I don't think anyone is inherently bigger or smaller than anyone else in this field. Everyone is fundamentally equal. If you stay focused, remain sincere in your efforts, and keep moving forward persistently, the journey itself teaches you everything you ultimately need to learn."
