Hansika Motwani and Sohael Khaturiya Officially End Marriage in Mumbai Court
Bollywood actress Hansika Motwani and her businessman husband Sohael Khaturiya have officially ended their marriage, with the Bandra family court in Mumbai granting them a divorce. The couple had tied the knot in December 2022, but their union was short-lived, culminating in a legal separation after months of speculation and silence from the actress regarding ongoing divorce rumours.
Mutual Consent Divorce Without Financial Claims
The divorce proceedings were initiated through a mutual consent petition, with Motwani filing for separation. Notably, the actress reportedly chose not to seek any streedhan or alimony as part of the settlement, emphasizing an amicable end to the relationship. During the court proceedings, Motwani was represented by advocate Adnan Shaikh, who provided insights into the couple's decision.
Fundamental Differences and Strained Relationship
According to legal representatives, the couple stayed together only briefly after their wedding before realizing that fundamental differences were severely affecting their relationship. Over time, disparities in their temperaments, viewpoints, and lifestyles led to repeated disagreements and conflicts. The petition submitted to the court detailed that even minor matters often escalated into heated arguments, making it increasingly challenging for the couple to continue sharing a home.
Eventually, both parties concluded that separating would be the best course of action for their well-being. The plea also highlighted that family members and close friends made several attempts to mend the relationship, encouraging the couple to work through their differences. However, these efforts did not lead to a reconciliation, and the strain persisted.
Amicable Separation and Legal Affidavits
While the relationship had reportedly become strained at one point, Motwani and Khaturiya later held discussions and mutually decided to proceed with a divorce. They subsequently submitted affidavits confirming that neither side would make any financial or legal claims against the other, ensuring a clean break. The couple has been living separately since July 2, 2024, and did not have any children during their marriage.
This development marks the end of a high-profile union that captivated Bollywood fans, underscoring the challenges faced by celebrities in maintaining personal relationships under public scrutiny. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of compatibility and mutual respect in marital partnerships.
