Hailee Steinfeld Embraces Change as She Prepares for Motherhood

As she anticipates becoming a mother, actress Hailee Steinfeld is navigating this transformative period with remarkable calm and honesty. The 29-year-old star recently provided a candid look into how her first pregnancy is profoundly altering her daily routine, mental outlook, and even her marital dynamics.

A Shift from Performance to Presence

In the February 6 edition of her Beau Society newsletter, Steinfeld offered an intimate glimpse into her physical and emotional adjustments while maintaining a flourishing career. Rather than pushing herself relentlessly, the Hawkeye actress revealed she is consciously choosing to slow down and tune into her body's needs.

Her current focus has shifted dramatically from achievement-oriented performance to mindful presence, a change that reflects both personal evolution and preparation for the new life ahead. This intentional approach represents a significant departure from her previous routines, emphasizing rest and purposeful living.

Redefining Fitness During Pregnancy

Speaking specifically about her fitness regimen, Steinfeld explained how pregnancy has transformed her relationship with physical activity. "I'm prioritizing listening to my body, which has been a consistent thing I've always done when it comes to working out, regardless of my physical state," she wrote in her newsletter.

This heightened bodily awareness has become her guiding principle throughout this new chapter. Walking has emerged as her primary form of exercise, with Steinfeld noting: "Recently, I've been doing a lot of walking. Sometimes I set out for 30 minutes, and it ends up being 15, or less than that. I'm taking it slow, but movement is key."

She has also incorporated stair walking to maintain mobility, adopting a simple philosophy of consistency and self-care without pressure or rigid expectations.

Nurturing Marriage Amid Busy Schedules

Steinfeld also discussed how she and her husband, NFL quarterback Josh Allen, maintain their connection despite demanding professional commitments. When asked about cultivating an intentional relationship, she responded enthusiastically: "I love this question. There's an easy answer in my brain. I don't want it to seem cliché, but we focus on being truly present with each other."

This commitment to presence manifests through deliberate rituals, including weekly date nights and designated phone-free time each evening. "More specifically, we're big on weekly date nights and going no-phones for an hour at the end of the day," she shared, highlighting how small, consistent practices strengthen their bond.

Balancing Career Milestones with Personal Transformation

Steinfeld and Allen married on May 31, 2025, and publicly confirmed their pregnancy on December 12 of that year. While preparing for motherhood, the actress continues to experience professional success, with her latest film Sinners making Oscars history by receiving 16 nominations.

For Steinfeld, this season represents a delicate equilibrium between career achievements and personal milestones, all grounded in the quiet strength that comes from attentively listening to her body's needs and honoring her evolving priorities.
