Renowned music composer and actor GV Prakash Kumar has recently opened up about his decision to compose music for the film 'Youth' without accepting any payment. This revelation came during a promotional interview for his latest cinematic venture, 'Happy Raj', which has just hit the theaters. The film features GV Prakash in a leading role alongside Sri Gouri Priya and is helmed by debutant director Maria Raja Ilanchezhiyan.

"The reason I worked on that film without taking a salary is Karunas," GV Prakash stated, as reported by Cinema Vikatan. He elaborated on their close friendship, noting that Karunas had previously acted in his film 'Darling', which strengthened their camaraderie.
GV Prakash also expressed deep appreciation for Karunas and his wife Grace, describing them as exceptionally kind individuals. "Karunas and his wife Grace are very good people. Because of the affection and respect I have for them, I composed music for 'Youth' without asking for payment," he added. "Because the film had a debut actor, audio companies wanted to buy the songs for a very low amount," he explained.
Faced with this challenge and having already invested significantly in music production, GV Prakash took a proactive step by launching his own music label. "I launched my own label and released the songs myself. Later, when the songs became hits, the same companies offered five times more money," he revealed. This move not only ensured the songs reached the audience but also highlighted the potential for independent initiatives in the entertainment sector.
