Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar' Sequel Confirmed, Releasing in Months
Dhurandhar 2 Already Shot, Release in Months: Rakesh Bedi

The excitement for Ranveer Singh's upcoming spy thriller, 'Dhurandhar', is reaching a fever pitch as the film prepares for its theatrical debut tomorrow. However, in a thrilling twist, veteran actor Rakesh Bedi has revealed that the story is far from over, confirming that a sequel is already in the pipeline and could be in cinemas within a matter of months.

Sequel Shot and Ready for Release

In a recent interview, Rakesh Bedi dropped the major update that 'Dhurandhar 2' has already been shot and is currently undergoing post-production work. He stated that the second installment is "around the corner" and is expected to hit the screens in a month or two at the most. This news comes as a surprise to fans, amplifying the anticipation for the first film's universe.

Bedi also shed light on his evolving role across the two parts. While his screen time is relatively limited in 'Dhurandhar Part 1', he promises a much more prominent presence in the sequel. He described his character as both "endearing and menacing," revealing it is inspired by a real-life politician from Pakistan, whose look he has emulated for the role.

Aditya Dhar Keeps His Promise

The actor credited director Aditya Dhar for this opportunity, recalling a promise made years ago. After admiring Bedi's work in 'URI: The Surgical Strike', Dhar expressed a desire to collaborate again. When 'Dhurandhar' went on floors in January 2024, Dhar fulfilled that promise by offering Bedi the crucial role of a politician.

The film itself has been making headlines for its scale and a recent legal controversy. The makers were accused of basing the plot on the life of late Army officer Major Mohit Sharma. Director Aditya Dhar has categorically denied any connection. Bedi, commenting on the issue, acknowledged that while stories draw inspiration, 'Dhurandhar' is not directly based on the officer's life, saluting Major Sharma's service separately.

A Record-Breaking Bollywood Spectacle

'Dhurandhar' has already carved a place in history by becoming the longest Bollywood film in nearly two decades. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted it an 'A' certificate with a mammoth runtime of 3 hours and 34 minutes. This high-octane spy thriller is poised to offer audiences a cinematic experience of epic proportions.

Directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by B62 Productions and Jio Studios, 'Dhurandhar' boasts a star-studded cast. It features Ranveer Singh and Rakesh Bedi in central roles, alongside Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and R. Madhavan in significant parts. The film also marks the big-screen debut of newcomer Sara Arjun. The stage is set for its grand release in theatres on December 5.
