After considerable reflection, Haldankar recognized the significant evolution in television, particularly with the rise of vertical series. "Many actors are now moving towards vertical series, and I wanted to explore that space too," she shares. However, her ambitions extend beyond this shift. "I would love to headline a strong series on web platforms," she asserts, highlighting her desire for more substantial and challenging roles.
Lifelong Commitment to Acting and Industry Concerns
For Dhruvee, acting is not a temporary phase but a lifelong dedication. "I don't ever want to retire! Actors don't come with a retirement plan — their plan is to work as long as they live," she declares. Despite this passion, she expresses deep concern about current industry trends. "I'm disheartened with so many entertainment platforms coming up like mushrooms and exploiting actors," she states. She criticizes the focus on superficial qualities, noting that "if you're good-looking or have followers on social media, that's not enough to express and act." Haldankar laments that many lack passion and disregard the culture and ethics of the trade.
Breaking Typecasting and Future Goals
Haldankar is determined to break free from her typecast image, often being cast in mother roles on television. "I want to cut my typecasted mother image and have casting directors call me for better, exciting roles," she explains. She clarifies that these roles do not necessarily need to be bold; they could be romantic or diverse in nature. Looking ahead, she is selective about her projects. "I want to wait to work with real cinephiles and passionate filmmakers, where I don't get curbed with the limitations of the platform," she concludes, underscoring her commitment to quality over quantity in her career choices.
