Danish Pandor Reflects on Dhurandhar Success and Bollywood Journey
Actor Danish Pandor expresses genuine excitement about the massive success of his latest film Dhurandhar. He remains grounded despite the overwhelming response. Pandor emphasizes that true stardom demands responsibility and consistent hard work. The actor, famous for portraying Uzair Baloch, opens up about navigating the unpredictable film industry, handling sudden fame, and his strong opinions on the movie's controversial ban in the Middle East.
Recalling Career Struggles and Audition Rejections
In a candid conversation with Hindustan Times, Danish Pandor shared details of his difficult professional journey. He revealed there were periods lasting two and a half to three years where he found no work at all. "You keep auditioning, you keep hearing 'no,' and eventually, you start doubting yourself," Pandor admitted. He made a crucial point that a single hit film does not automatically secure better opportunities. While it certainly increases visibility, an actor must continuously prove their worth all over again.
Addressing the Unnecessary Middle East Ban
Pandor did not hold back his views on the Middle East ban imposed on Dhurandhar. He labeled the restriction as completely unnecessary. "Cinema is subjective by nature," he stated firmly. He explained that Dhurandhar focuses on storytelling rather than forcing any specific message onto viewers. Pandor believes audiences possess enough intelligence to decide what they wish to take away from a film. He warned that fixating only on negative aspects prevents progress. His philosophy is to absorb the good elements and move forward with cautious optimism.
Embracing Responsibility with Humility and Effort
While acknowledging the incredible love for his performance, Danish Pandor stressed the importance of staying humble and focused. "When people appreciate your work, it feels overwhelming and you feel grateful. But it also brings a new responsibility when selecting your next project. You must live up to that audience love," he said. Pandor revealed he still personally messages people, considering it part of his job. He dismisses any notion of sitting back and waiting for opportunities. "You can only control your own effort. You can give one hundred percent. Everything else remains beyond your control," he concluded.
Praising Ranveer Singh's Selfless Approach
Danish Pandor expressed deep admiration for his co-star Ranveer Singh. He described Singh as a rare actor who actively enables others to shine on screen. "Ranveer is one of the most secure and selfless actors I have ever encountered. His sole focus is elevating every scene and making it better," Pandor praised. He noted that Singh arrives on set fully prepared and completely immersed in his character. Simply watching him work becomes a source of inspiration.
Admiring Akshaye Khanna's Silent Method
Pandor also shared his respect for Akshaye Khanna's unique acting process. He observed that Khanna is a man of very few words on set. He sits quietly, observes everything around him, and transforms completely when the camera starts rolling. Pandor found this silent, observant preparation incredibly powerful. Watching Khanna taught him that acting involves deep listening and absorption—a lesson no formal acting school could provide.
Dhurandhar's Box Office Triumph
The film Dhurandhar, which released on December 5, 2025, has achieved remarkable commercial success. It has earned an impressive Rs 860.10 crore at the Indian box office, cementing its status as a major blockbuster.
