Chitrangda Singh on Galwan Film: 'A Huge Surprise to Work with Salman Khan'
Chitrangda Singh: Galwan film with Salman Khan was a surprise

Bollywood actress Chitrangda Singh has revealed that her upcoming project, the highly anticipated film 'The Battle of Galwan' starring Salman Khan, came to her as a complete and unexpected surprise. Despite knowing Khan socially for years, the actress never imagined she would land a role in one of his major cinematic ventures.

An Unexpected Call That Changed Everything

In a candid conversation, Singh shared the moment she learned about the opportunity. She received a call from the film's director, Apoorva Lakhia, which left her in disbelief. "I got Apoorva Lakhia who gave me a call and I was like, 'Really?'" she recounted. The actress admitted she had never pitched herself for work with Salman Khan, even though their social circles overlapped for a long time. She emphasized that there was no planning or strategy behind this professional pairing; it was a development that came her way naturally.

"We never discussed it, nor did I ever approach him for work," Chitrangda stated, clarifying the organic nature of the casting. This element of surprise, she feels, is what makes the project particularly special, believing that some of the best things happen without force or prior expectation.

More Than Just a Big Commercial Film

'The Battle of Galwan' is based on the 2020 India-China border clash, a real-life incident that stirred profound emotions across the nation. Chitrangda Singh believes the film successfully marries grand scale with genuine sentiment. She pointed out that while the project is poised to be a major commercial draw, it is firmly rooted in authentic and impactful events.

"I remember there was a lot of conversation around what happened at that time," she said, reflecting on the national discourse that followed the Galwan Valley incident. For her, this combination of real-world gravity and cinematic spectacle creates a powerful recipe for compelling cinema.

A Personal Connection to the Story

This film holds a unique significance for Chitrangda Singh due to her personal background. Hailing from an army family, she feels a deep and innate connection to the narrative. Expressing her pride and happiness, she said, "I'm happy to be part of something which, you know, I mean that's the world that I know and I'm very proud to be a daughter of an army man."

She stressed that this is not just another film for her. "It's a very important film. It's not just a film. It's an important film. So I'm happy to be part of this," Singh affirmed, highlighting the project's significance beyond mere entertainment. The film marks a major comeback for Salman Khan, popularly known as 'Sallu Bhai', and is directed by Apoorva Lakhia.
