Brad Pitt Returns to Iconic Role in Netflix's Cliff Booth Adventure

Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt is officially returning to one of his most celebrated characters, with Netflix unveiling a surprise teaser trailer for 'The Adventures of Cliff Booth' during Super Bowl LX on Sunday. The highly anticipated film marks the follow-up to Quentin Tarantino's 2019 hit 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood', where Pitt won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Reprising an Oscar-Winning Performance

At 62 years old, Pitt will once again portray stunt performer Cliff Booth, the character he originally played alongside Leonardo DiCaprio's Rick Dalton. The upcoming project sees Pitt reuniting with acclaimed director David Fincher for the first time since their 2008 collaboration on 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'. The duo previously worked together on iconic films including 'Se7en' and 'Fight Club'.

According to reports from People magazine, the official teaser has not yet been released online following its Super Bowl debut. The film's development was first reported in April 2025, with Pitt photographed on set in July wearing distinctive costume elements including a long blond wig, mustache, and yellow floral shirt.

Expanding the Once Upon a Time Universe

'The Adventures of Cliff Booth' continues the story established in Tarantino's 2019 film, which explored Booth and Dalton's lives in 1969 Hollywood through an alternate history lens where they inadvertently prevent Sharon Tate's murder. Deadline reports that the new film follows Booth as a "Hollywood studio fixer" after the events of the original movie.

The project boasts an impressive supporting cast including Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, JB Taken, and Corey Fogelmanis. This marks a significant expansion of the universe created in the original film, which earned Pitt his Oscar and also secured the Academy Award for Best Production Design.

A Major Streaming Event

Netflix's decision to debut the teaser during the Super Bowl underscores the streaming platform's confidence in the project as a major entertainment event. The film represents a significant collaboration between Pitt and Fincher after nearly two decades apart, bringing together two of Hollywood's most respected talents.

'The Adventures of Cliff Booth' will be released exclusively on Netflix, though an official release date has not yet been announced. The project continues Pitt's successful partnership with the streaming giant and adds to Netflix's growing portfolio of high-profile original films featuring A-list talent.
