Alia Bhatt's Motherhood Journey Sparks Social Media Reevaluation

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has opened up about the profound transformation she experienced after welcoming her daughter Raha in 2022, revealing that motherhood has made her contemplate deleting her social media accounts entirely. The acclaimed actor shared these intimate reflections during a recent interview, highlighting how her priorities and sense of self have shifted dramatically since becoming a parent.

The Fundamental Shift in Identity

Speaking candidly to Esquire India, Bhatt admitted that "truly a lot has changed" since Raha's arrival. She expressed that while she occasionally catches glimpses of her former self, she no longer fully remembers her core identity before motherhood. "Every now and then, I feel I have a glimpse of who I used to be. But I don't think I fully remember what my core was before becoming a mother," the actor revealed.

Bhatt described the transformation as both gradual and monumental, unfolding over nine months of pregnancy but culminating in a profound realization when she saw her daughter for the first time. "It's such a massive change. It happens over the course of nine months. You feel your body, and your mindset, transforming. But when you see the child that you've made come to life, the scale of that change is so profound that it's almost impossible to go back to who you were before," she explained.

Social Media Dilemma in the Spotlight

The actress, who has navigated fame since her career began, shared that Raha's birth prompted a serious reassessment of her relationship with social media platforms. "There are days when I wake up and think, okay, I just want to delete my social media and be an actor who acts. I don't want to keep up with this conversation again and again," Bhatt confessed, referring to the constant public discourse surrounding celebrities.

However, the star acknowledged the dual nature of social media in her life. While she feels the urge to withdraw completely, she recognizes these platforms as vital channels for maintaining connections with her supporters. "I know that would really cut off contact with so many people who've supported me from the beginning, and I don't want to do that," she stated, highlighting the delicate balance between personal privacy and public engagement.

Guarding Personal Life in the Digital Age

Bhatt emphasized how her approach to sharing personal content has evolved significantly since becoming a mother. "When it comes to really putting out your personal life...now my personal life is so personal that I find it a little bit difficult," she shared. The actress noted that her photo collection has become dominated by images of Raha, requiring conscious effort to document herself separately.

This protective stance toward her private life represents a marked departure from earlier years in the public eye, reflecting a broader trend among celebrities seeking to shield their families from constant media scrutiny while maintaining professional visibility.

Professional Commitments Continue

Despite these personal reflections and adjustments, Bhatt remains actively engaged in her film career. She is currently preparing for the release of her upcoming project Alpha, while simultaneously working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's highly anticipated film Love And War. This major production features an ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in prominent roles alongside Bhatt.

The actress's ability to navigate these dual responsibilities—balancing her evolving personal life with demanding professional commitments—demonstrates the complex realities facing modern celebrities in India's entertainment industry.
