Akshaye Khanna's Intense 'Dhurandhar' Scene: Co-Star Reveals He Demanded Real Hits
Akshaye Khanna Told Co-Star 'Hit Me Properly' in Dhurandhar

Social media is abuzz with praise for Akshaye Khanna's powerful portrayal of Rehman Dakait in the upcoming film 'Dhurandhar'. Now, a fascinating behind-the-scenes detail has emerged, revealing the actor's extreme dedication to realism during a particularly violent sequence.

"Hit Me Properly": Khanna's Demand for Realism

In a recent podcast appearance on 'Abhishek Pali Talks', actor Aditya Uppal, who plays Omar Haider of the Lyari Task Force, shared a startling anecdote. He recounted an intense van scene where his character, along with others led by Sanjay Dutt's SP Chaudhary Aslam, had to beat up Khanna's character.

Uppal admitted to initial hesitation, stating, "There was a little hesitation at first. He is a senior actor." However, the atmosphere was set by Sanjay Dutt himself, who first hit Khanna and then instructed the others to join in. The shot was apparently quite extended in the original take, though it has since been edited.

The real moment of truth came when Uppal had to deliver his blows. "When I hit him for the first time, obviously I was a little taken aback, I thought of doing it softly," Uppal confessed, concerned about the compact space of the van and causing actual injury. The van was stationary, with crew members shaking it to simulate movement.

It was then that Akshaye Khanna gave a clear and direct instruction. "Akshaye sir told me, 'Tez se maaro, main gir nahi raha hu (Hit me properly, I am not falling)'," Uppal revealed. Only after Khanna repeated the command did Uppal feel empowered to "go all out" and hit him with full force, ensuring the scene's brutal authenticity.

Rigorous Weapon Training for Authentic Portrayal

Beyond the physical confrontations, Uppal also shed light on the meticulous preparation that went into the film, particularly for action sequences involving firearms. He credited director Aditya Dhar for his emphasis on proper training.

"We got proper weapon training," Uppal stated. "Aditya sir is very particular... that whenever the actor comes on set, they should be trained properly before." This was especially crucial for Uppal's role as a Pakistani officer, requiring his gun handling to be distinctly different from an untrained criminal's.

He trained specifically with a Glock pistol, learning intricate details like unloading the magazine and operating its mechanism. This preparation was aimed at ensuring efficiency and authenticity on set, avoiding wasted time and ensuring every scene was executed with precision.

About the Star-Studded 'Dhurandhar'

Directed by Aditya Dhar, 'Dhurandhar' boasts an impressive ensemble cast. Alongside Akshaye Khanna, Aditya Uppal, and Sanjay Dutt, the film features Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in pivotal roles. The film is one of the most anticipated projects in Bollywood, promising high-octane action and gripping narratives.

This revelation about Akshaye Khanna's commitment offers fans a glimpse into the intense and professional environment on the set of 'Dhurandhar', heightening excitement for the film's eventual release.
