Akon Honors Late Composer Aadesh Shrivastava and Son Avitesh in Mumbai Concert

In a heartfelt moment at his recent Mumbai concert, global music sensation Akon, famous for hits like Smack That, called young musician Avitesh Shrivastava on stage. The emotional tribute was directed not only at Avitesh but also his father, the late composer Aadesh Shrivastava, who played a pivotal role in Akon's connection to India.

Emotional Tribute Sparks Buzz About Musical Collaboration

During the concert, Akon expressed deep gratitude, stating, "His father was the first person to bring me to India and introduce me to this beautiful culture, my second home." He added, "He (Avitesh) is the reason why India is so close to my heart right now." This touching moment quickly ignited speculation about a potential collaboration between the two artists.

Confirming the rumors, Avitesh Shrivastava revealed that he and Akon have already recorded three songs together. "I've added a desi tadka to the music. We need to introduce people to our culture and promote it. These are global independent songs," Avitesh explained. He noted that out of the three tracks, two are composed by him and one by Akon, with both artists featuring on each song.

Impromptu Recording Session in Mumbai Studio

Avitesh shared an intriguing behind-the-scenes detail about one of the songs, which was recorded in India during Akon's visit last year. "He asked me to pick him up from the Mumbai airport. Before heading back to LA, we spent the entire night recording a song at my Mumbai studio. It was impromptu," he recalled, highlighting the spontaneous and creative nature of their partnership.

Longstanding Bond Between Akon and the Shrivastava Family

Speaking about his relationship with Akon, whom he affectionately calls Uncle Akon, Avitesh said, "I have known Uncle Akon since I was 12. He was extremely close to my father and had immense respect for him as an artiste." Reflecting on the stage moment, he added, "Him calling me on stage was a feeling I can't describe in words. It was a great surprise."

This collaboration not only celebrates the legacy of Aadesh Shrivastava but also marks a significant step in blending Indian musical elements with global sounds, promising to introduce audiences worldwide to rich cultural influences through their upcoming releases.
