Bollywood actor Ahan Shetty has undertaken a remarkable physical journey for his upcoming role in the highly anticipated war film, 'Border 2'. In an exclusive revelation, the actor detailed the rigorous regimen that saw him shed significant weight to authentically portray a soldier on screen.
The Gruelling Physical Transformation
To achieve the lean and battle-ready physique demanded by his character, Ahan Shetty embarked on a strict fitness plan. He disclosed that he lost nearly 5 kilograms specifically for this project. The transformation was not just about weight loss but about sculpting a body that reflected the functional readiness of a military professional.
Shetty's strategy was meticulously planned around his shooting schedule. "It was about precision - every meal timed around training and shoot schedules," the actor explained. He adhered to a diet focused on high protein and healthy fats to preserve muscle mass and sustain energy levels throughout the demanding shoot. Concurrently, he drastically reduced his carbohydrate intake to eliminate excess weight.
Emphasising his commitment, Shetty stated there were no cheat days during the entire filming period. "Clean eating throughout," he affirmed, highlighting the discipline required to meet the visual authenticity he sought for every frame.
Training at the National Defence Academy
The authenticity of his preparation was further deepened by the filming location. A significant portion of the movie was shot at the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla, Pune. Shetty described this experience as both physically taxing and profoundly transformative.
Immersing himself in the actual environment of a premier military institution reshaped his entire approach to the role. Training and performing in the halls and grounds where future officers are forged added a layer of credibility and gravity to his performance, which he hopes will translate on screen.
