Bollywood's New Generation Steps into Theatrical Spotlight with 'Ikkis'

The world of Hindi cinema is set to welcome a new star with his first big-screen appearance. Agastya Nanda, grandson of legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, is poised for his theatrical debut in director Sriram Raghavan's upcoming film 'Ikkis'. This move comes after his digital debut in the OTT film 'The Archies', which also featured star kids Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor.

A Star-Studded Family Affair at the Special Screening

The makers of 'Ikkis' recently organized a special screening, turning it into a notable family event. Amitabh Bachchan made a rare public appearance in the city to watch his grandson's work. The megastar was seen in a casual avatar, quickly entering the venue without stopping for the paparazzi. He was accompanied by his granddaughter, Navya Nanda, who came to support her brother Agastya.

Adding to the family vibe, Akshay Kumar was also present at the screening. He arrived to cheer for his niece, Simar Bhatia, who is making her acting debut opposite Agastya in the film. Akshay was seen happily posing with his sister, showcasing a warm sibling bond. He kept his look simple yet classy, wearing a blue striped shirt with denim jeans.

A Bittersweet Final Bow from a Legend

Unfortunately, 'Ikkis' holds a poignant significance as it marks the final on-screen appearance of the beloved veteran actor Dharmendra. The legendary star passed away on November 24 this year. In a heartfelt tribute, the film's team shared a behind-the-scenes video featuring Dharmendra, which was later reposted by his emotional children—Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Esha Deol.

In the touching clip, Dharmendra addresses the film's crew with his characteristic humility and warmth. “I’m a bit happily sad today, the last day of shooting. I love you all; if I made any mistake, please forgive me,” he says. The veteran actor also expressed a hope for unity through cinema, urging audiences from both India and Pakistan to watch 'Ikkis'. He reflected his long-held belief in film's power to connect people across borders.

Expressing his gratitude, Dharmendra added, “I’m extremely happy to be in the Mandav films. The team, the captain, Shriram ji. It was done in a very nice way,” referring to director Sriram Raghavan and the production team.

What's Next for the Film and Its Cast?

'Ikkis' represents a significant launchpad for two new faces: Agastya Nanda in his theatrical journey and Akshay Kumar's niece Simar Bhatia in her cinematic debut. The film is scheduled for a January 1 release, offering audiences their first look at this new pairing and the late Dharmendra's final performance.

The presence of industry stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar at the screening underscores the strong familial support and the high expectations surrounding this project. As the release date approaches, 'Ikkis' is shaping up to be a film that blends fresh talent with legendary legacy, promising an emotional and memorable experience for viewers.
