Agastya Nanda Calls 'Ikkis' His Last Chance, Shares Screen with Dharmendra
Agastya Nanda: 'Ikkis is my last chance to prove myself'

Young actor Agastya Nanda is channeling all his focus into his upcoming film, Ikkis, viewing it as a pivotal moment in his career. This comes after his debut in The Archies failed to meet expectations, leaving the actor determined to make a strong comeback with a project he holds deeply personal.

A Foundation and a Fresh Start

Expressing immense gratitude towards producer Dinesh Vijan and director Sriram Raghavan, Agastya revealed how they supported him at a critical juncture. He started the film at 21 and is now 25, calling the experience his "foundation and schooling." He acknowledged that it's uncommon for established filmmakers to show such faith in a newcomer, especially after a first film that didn't resonate with audiences or critics.

"This is my last chance to prove myself, and I have treated it like that," Agastya stated emphatically during a recent intimate trailer unveiling. He emphasized that Ikkis is more than just a film for him; it's a profoundly personal journey of growth and redemption.

The Unforgettable Experience with a Legend

Adding a layer of immense significance to the war drama, Agastya had the rare privilege of sharing screen space with the legendary Dharmendra. Though their shared scenes were limited due to the film's narrative, the impact was lasting. Agastya described the veteran actor as warm, welcoming, and incredibly youthful in energy.

He fondly recalled a single day of shooting together, which he will treasure forever. "My favourite part of the film is Dharam ji," he admitted, expressing sadness that the late actor won't be able to see his own performance in the completed film.

A Birthday Blessing and a Funny Anecdote

Agastya shared a charming memory of how he was first introduced to Dharmendra. He signed the film on the veteran's birthday and went with the director and producer to seek his blessings. Nervous and star-struck, Agastya was put at ease by Dharmendra's friendly demeanor.

He also recounted a hilarious story Dharmendra shared about his grandfather, Amitabh Bachchan. The anecdote involved a fan who mistakenly entered Bachchan's former home, Prateeksha (where Agastya now lives), looking for Dharmendra, leading to a confused and funny exchange. The story had the entire gathering at the event in splits.

With Ikkis, Agastya Nanda is not just stepping into a new role but shouldering the weight of expectation and a deep desire to showcase his true potential. The film represents both a professional challenge and a personal milestone for the young actor, who is ready to leave his mark.
