Television Actor Vipul Roy Files Police Complaint Over Rs 7.10 Lakh Theft at Mumbai Residence
Popular television actor Vipul Roy, known for his roles in shows like 'F.I.R' and 'Jeanie Aur Juju', has reported a significant theft at his family home in Mumbai's upscale Khar West area. The actor alleges that a domestic helper, hired through an online service platform, stole cash and jewellery valued at approximately Rs 7.10 lakh from his residence.
Details of the Alleged Theft Incident
According to the official complaint filed with Khar Police, the 40-year-old actor resides with his family on the tenth floor of Kalaniketan Building on SV Road. Like many urban households, the family occasionally employs domestic help through a company application for routine household chores.
The statement reveals that on April 6, the actor hired a woman named Deepali Sanjay Kharwa for cleaning duties. This was reportedly her fourth assignment at the Roy residence, making her familiar with the family's routine and the layout of their flat.
"During the cleaning session, the domestic helper specifically requested that the actor not enter the room with wet feet as she was mopping the floor," the police statement noted. "She then locked the room from inside for approximately fifteen minutes before emerging to announce she had completed her work and departing."
Discovery of Missing Valuables
The theft came to light the following day when Vipul Roy opened his cupboard drawer and discovered that valuable items were missing. The actor immediately suspected the domestic helper based on the timing and circumstances.
The stolen items included:
- Thirty $100 US banknotes
- 7,000 UAE dirhams
- 14,500 Thai baht
- One silver bracelet
- Two gold-diamond rings
The combined value of these items has been estimated at Rs 7.10 lakh, making this a substantial theft case.
Police Investigation Underway
Khar Police registered a formal theft case on April 21, 2026 against the accused domestic helper. The investigation is currently active, with authorities examining multiple lines of inquiry:
- CCTV footage from the building and surrounding areas
- Digital records from the online service booking platform
- Location tracking of the accused individual
Police officials have confirmed they are pursuing all available leads to apprehend the suspect and recover the stolen property.

Vipul Roy first gained public attention as a contestant on the inaugural season of the reality show India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj. He subsequently hosted the popular singing competition Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mega Challenge and co-hosted Wheel Ghar Ghar Mein alongside Manish Paul.
