Aayush Sharma's Candid Confession: From Family Opposition to Bollywood Stardom

Bollywood actor Aayush Sharma, known for his debut in 'Loveyatri' and subsequent role in 'Antim', has recently shared a deeply personal account of his challenging journey into the film industry. Married to Arpita Khan, sister of superstar Salman Khan, and a father of two, Sharma's path to success was far from smooth, marked by family resistance and financial hardship.

The Mumbai Deception and College Crisis

Sharma initially moved to Mumbai under the pretense of pursuing a Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) degree at Jai Hind College. During this period, he lived a comfortable life in a rented Bandra apartment, employed domestic help, and even persuaded his father to purchase a car for him. However, this facade crumbled when his college reported his alarmingly low attendance of just 9 percent to his parents.

In a revealing interview with Cyrus Broacha, Sharma recounted the pivotal moment when his father visited Mumbai after being summoned by the college. "My dad came to Mumbai, he was quite ashamed. My mom was also upset and said, 'What have we not given you, we gave you a house, a car, and you've brought us shame. We told the entire family that our child is going to Mumbai and will make something of himself,'" the actor shared.

The Painful Confession and Harsh Reality Check

It was during this confrontation that Sharma finally confessed his true ambition: to become an actor. He presented his father with photoshoots and performance CDs, hoping for support. Instead, he received brutal criticism that questioned his very potential.

"My father said, 'Neither are you tall, nor do you have a physique, nor do you have a voice, nor are you good-looking. You have no personality whatsoever. When you walk on the road, nobody looks at you. Has anyone ever told you that you can become an actor?'" Sharma revealed. His father continued with even more devastating comparisons: "'You are nothing close to Bachchan sahab, you are nothing close to Dharmendra ji. You are not going to be a hero at all. I am not going to pay even Rs 50 to watch you on screen.'"

Financial Cutoff and Rock Bottom

His father made it clear that financial support would cease immediately, instructing him to return to Himachal Pradesh and join the family business. Suddenly cut off, Sharma found himself struggling to survive despite still having his apartment and car. His savings rapidly depleted, bringing him to a critical point where he had only Rs 20 left.

At this lowest moment, a friend's intervention proved crucial. "My friend called me to say he had got a job of Rs 50,000 per month. When he found out about my situation, the next morning my account was credited with Rs 50,000," Sharma gratefully acknowledged.

The Bold Request and Grandfather's Intervention

Undeterred by the setbacks, Sharma returned to Himachal with an audacious proposal. "I went back to Himachal and said, 'Dad, I want Rs 10 crore to launch myself.' That's the number somebody gave me," he explained. His father's response remained characteristically sharp: "He said, 'Beta, tune dekha hai kabhi langde ghode pe paisa lagate ho? Main to chalo 10 crore beta samajh ke de bhi dunga, but tere ko dekhne kaun aayega?' (Have you ever seen anyone bet money on a lame horse? I might still give you Rs 10 crore thinking of you as my son, but who will come to watch you?)"

The breakthrough finally came through his grandfather's mediation. "Luckily, my grandfather told my dad that he is the first one in the family who is trying to do something on his own. Give him a chance and a timeline and my father re-started giving me money," Sharma disclosed, marking the turning point that eventually led to his Bollywood career.

This heartfelt revelation provides a rare glimpse into the personal sacrifices and familial challenges that often precede success in the competitive world of Indian cinema, highlighting Sharma's resilience in pursuing his dreams against significant odds.
