Junaid Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, is all set to appear in the romantic drama 'Ek Din' opposite Sai Pallavi. In an unusual promotional strategy, the film's advance bookings commenced 39 days prior to its May 1 release. The actor recently shared the reasoning behind this approach in an interview.
Aamir Khan on Why 'Ek Din' Bookings Opened Early
During a conversation with Just Too Filmy, Aamir revealed that the idea was initially suggested by a team member. He said, "The fact is that 'Ek Din' is a very small film, in the sense that it has actors who are very new. Junaid has barely started his career, and Sai [Pallavi] is doing her first film in Hindi. So I thought this film would need a little more time to get traction. Hence, the earlier we start, the better. It is a story that I believe in, and I am quite a mushy audience."
Aamir Khan Praises Sunil Pandey's Work on 'Ek Din'
The actor further lauded director Sunil Pandey, stating, "He has done such an amazing job. He has worked so hard for the film; he is very persevering. None of us knows whether the film will do well, but what matters to me is whether we are able to bring the script alive on screen. That, for me, is the first yardstick of success. So when I see the film today, I see that Sunil has truly managed to bring out what was in the script, very honestly. Of course, numbers are important to gauge success, but what if a film you don't like does well? I wouldn't be happy with that success."
'Ek Din' Cast, Makers, and Remake Details
Directed by Sunil Pandey, 'Ek Din' is a romantic drama produced by Mansoor Khan, Aamir Khan, and Aparna Purohit under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions. The film features Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan in lead roles. It is a remake of the 2016 Thai film 'One Day', which narrates the story of a young man who falls in love with his colleague but lacks the courage to express his feelings.
