Aadu 3: 70% Budget Covered in Opening Weekend, Hits Rs 60 Crore

Aadu 3's Financial Success: Opening Weekend Covers Majority of Budget

In a remarkable revelation, producer Vijay Babu has disclosed that the ambitious Malayalam film Aadu 3 managed to recover nearly 70 percent of its total budget through its opening weekend gross collections alone. This significant financial milestone was shared during a post-release press meet in Kochi, as reported by On Manorama.

Grand Scale and Time-Travel Narrative

Directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas and starring Jayasurya, Aadu 3 represents a substantial departure from its predecessors in the series by incorporating a time-travel element. The film was mounted as a high-budget production, featuring multiple timelines that required extensive and meticulous production planning. Its visual richness and ambitious storytelling have set it apart in the current cinematic landscape.

Vijay Babu elaborated on the film's initial response, noting that Aadu 3 earned over Rs 2 crore in gross collections during its crucial opening weekend. He emphasized the importance of this period for the film's financial viability and credited the audience for their unwavering support, which contributed to its steady performance.

Confidence Amidst Global Tensions

The producer also acknowledged the inherent risks involved in such a large-scale project. He revealed an external factor that bolstered their confidence in releasing the film: "What really gave me confidence was the trust Venu had in the project. He understood the situation in the UAE during the US-Israel-Iran conflict and assured me that the government would stand by its people. That reassurance played a key role in our decision to release the film."

Impressive Box Office Performance

Aadu 3 continues to demonstrate strong box office traction, having crossed the Rs 60 crore mark in worldwide gross collections within just five days of its release. According to reports from the Sacnilk website, the comedy film has earned Rs 34.34 crore in India, while overseas markets have contributed Rs 25.75 crore. This brings the total worldwide gross to an impressive Rs 60.09 crore.

However, Day 5 saw an expected decline in collections. The film collected Rs 3.25 crore net in India, marking a 54.2 percent drop from Day 4's Rs 7.10 crore. It was screened across 1,704 shows with an occupancy rate of approximately 40 percent. The overall India net collection now stands at Rs 29.75 crore.

Looking Ahead

Meanwhile, lead actor Jayasurya is set to appear next in the highly anticipated film Kathanar: The Wild Sorcerer, keeping fans eagerly awaiting his future projects.
