Gujarat Trust Sets World Record Fitting 10 Disabled Cows with Prosthetics
Gujarat Trust Fits 10 Cows with Prosthetics, Sets World Record

In a heartwarming display of compassion and technical skill, Gujarat's Shree Bidata Sarvodaya Trust has etched its name in the global record books. On World Disability Day, the trust achieved a remarkable feat by successfully fitting 10 disabled cows with prosthetic limbs in under three hours at its panjrapol (cattle shelter) in Kutch district.

A World Record Certified for Compassion

The extraordinary effort was officially recognized by the Official World Record organization, which certified it as the achievement for the 'Most Cows Fitted with Prosthetic Limbs in Less Than Eight Hours'. This record highlights not just speed, but a profound commitment to alleviating animal suffering. The event was the culmination of meticulous planning, with over two weeks of dedicated preparation ensuring the smooth execution on the day.

Ending Silent Suffering for Rescued Animals

The ten cows, along with a nilgai, an ox, and two calves at the shelter, had been enduring immense hardship. Their damaged limbs, a result of congenital defects or survived injuries, robbed them of basic dignity. Simple acts like walking to food, urinating, or lying down for rest were daily, painful battles. Their disabilities severely limited their ability to eat sufficiently and maintain health, making them entirely dependent on human caretakers for survival.

Mukesh Doshi, Director of the Bidada Trust, described the profound impact of the initiative. He emphasized that the project was driven by the vital need to consider animal welfare with the same seriousness as human care. "This achievement was the result of more than two weeks of planning and preparation," Doshi stated. He expressed a desire to extend this best-available treatment to more such animals in need.

A New Lease on Life and a Broader Message

The moment the animals took their first steps with new support was deeply emotional for everyone involved. "It was an emotional moment watching them walk freely, reach the food and move independently," Doshi recounted. This initiative powerfully underscores that the ethos of disability awareness and inclusion must transcend human boundaries. Animals are integral to our ecosystem and deserve respect, care, and the right to a life free from preventable pain.

The record-setting day in Kutch serves as a beacon, reminding society that technological innovation and humanitarian spirit can combine to create miracles for the voiceless. It sets a new standard for animal care in India and inspires similar acts of kindness worldwide.
