Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor K Vijayendra Pandiyan, the Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, has made a significant impact at the ongoing 57th Regional Fruit, Vegetable and Flower Exhibition held at Raj Bhawan in Lucknow. The university's Horticulture College and vegetable section prominently displayed a range of vegetable varieties and advanced agricultural technologies developed through its research programs.

Hydroponic Cherry Tomatoes Garner High Praise

During the exhibition, the university's Director of Research, Mahak Singh, and Director of Extension, RK Yadav, highlighted the hydroponic cherry tomatoes cultivated at the university as a standout attraction. These tomatoes, grown using soilless hydroponic methods, received widespread appreciation from attendees for their quality and innovative cultivation technique. The officials provided detailed insights into the hydroponic process, emphasizing its efficiency and potential for sustainable agriculture.

In addition to the hydroponic display, Singh and Yadav elaborated on the university's 'Increase Organic Matter in Soil Resolution Campaign 2026'. This initiative is actively being implemented across 30 adopted villages in districts within the university's operational area. The campaign focuses on enhancing soil health by increasing organic content, promoting sustainable farming practices, and supporting local agricultural communities through education and technology transfer.
