RGU & Indian Navy Sign MoU for Defence Personnel Scholarships

Assam Royal Global University Forges Strategic Partnership with Indian Navy

In a significant move to support nation-building through education, Assam Royal Global University (RGU) has entered into a formal partnership with the Indian Navy. The collaboration was solidified through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed recently at the Navy Welfare and Wellness Association (NWWA) office in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

Formal Signing Ceremony Marks Historic Agreement

The MoU signing ceremony saw representation from both institutions. Shashi Tripathi, President of the Navy Welfare and Wellness Association, and Commodore SM Urooj Athar signed the document on behalf of the Indian Navy. Representing Assam Royal Global University, Prof. DN Singh, Registrar (Academics), formally executed the agreement.

Two-Tier Scholarship Program for Defence Families

Under this groundbreaking partnership, RGU will introduce two distinct scholarship categories specifically designed for defence personnel families. The Royal Shaurya Scholarship will provide 100% tuition fee coverage for families of martyrs and gallantry award recipients. Simultaneously, the Royal Suraksha Scholarship will offer 50% tuition fee support to wards of serving and retired defence personnel.

  • Serving defence personnel
  • Ex-servicemen and retired personnel
  • Personnel with disabilities
  • Families of those who died while in service

Strengthening Educational Access for Defence Community

This initiative represents a concrete step toward recognizing and supporting the sacrifices made by India's defence community. By removing financial barriers to quality higher education, RGU and the Indian Navy are creating pathways for academic advancement that honor service and sacrifice.

The partnership demonstrates how educational institutions can collaborate with defence organizations to build stronger communities through accessible education. This MoU establishes a framework for ongoing cooperation between academic and defence sectors, potentially serving as a model for similar initiatives nationwide.

Assam Royal Global University's commitment to this partnership reflects its broader mission of contributing to national development through innovative educational programs. The scholarship structure acknowledges different levels of service and sacrifice while ensuring that financial constraints don't limit educational aspirations within defence families.
