Patliputra University (PPU) has officially announced the schedule for its upcoming postgraduate first-semester examinations. The tests for regular courses under the 2025-27 academic session will be held from January 5 to January 9.
Examination Centres and Student Participation
The university will conduct the exams across a total of nine examination centres located in the districts of Patna and Nalanda. According to PPU Examination Controller Manoj Kumar, five of these centres will be situated within Patna district itself. The remaining four will be split evenly, with two centres in Barh and two in Nalanda.
University authorities expect approximately 10,000 candidates to appear for these postgraduate examinations. Kumar stated that all necessary arrangements are being finalized to ensure the smooth and timely conduct of the exams. The process will be carried out under the strict supervision of appointed university observers.
Approval and Academic Calendar Adherence
The decision to hold the exams as planned received the green light from Vice-Chancellor Prof Upendra Prasad Singh. The VC granted approval to proceed with the examinations in line with the university's scheduled academic calendar, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the timeline for the academic session.
This move is part of a broader effort by PPU to streamline its academic operations and avoid delays that can disrupt the student cycle.
Undergraduate Exams Concluded, Evaluation Begins
In related news, the university has recently completed the first-semester examinations for its undergraduate (UG) programmes for the academic session 2025-29. This was a massive undertaking, with close to one lakh (100,000) candidates appearing for the tests, marking it as one of the largest examination exercises conducted by PPU in recent years.
The evaluation process for these UG answer sheets is set to begin shortly. A centralized evaluation will be conducted from January 2 to January 10 at two dedicated centres—one in Patna district and another in Nalanda. Special arrangements have been implemented to ensure both the timeliness and accuracy of the assessment process for this vast number of scripts.
Focus on Timely Results Declaration
In a significant step aimed at preventing academic delays, the university has set an ambitious target for declaring the UG first-semester results. Examination Controller Manoj Kumar confirmed that the results are planned to be announced between January 15 and January 20.
This initiative is designed to keep the academic calendar on track and allow for a seamless transition into the next semester for undergraduate students. The university's administration is keen on minimizing disruptions and ensuring that the academic progression of its large student body remains fluid and predictable.
