Nagpur University Reschedules 200+ Exams Clashing with Jan Civic Polls
Nagpur University Revises Timetable for 70+ Courses

Nagpur University has undertaken a major rescheduling exercise, releasing revised examination timetables for more than 70 professional courses. This decisive action came after it was discovered that over 200 examinations were set to overlap with the dates of the upcoming civic polls.

Exam Clash with Election Duty Prompts Overhaul

The university's examination section identified a significant conflict: numerous tests across both professional and non-professional streams were scheduled for the same period as the civic elections, slated for January 14 to 16. To ensure the smooth conduct of both the electoral process and the academic evaluations, a revision was deemed necessary. Manish Zodpe, Deputy Registrar and in-charge of the NU examination section, confirmed the move.

"The revised schedules are now finalised and uploaded," Zodpe stated. He assured students that the rescheduled papers would be conducted immediately after the last examination of their respective course. This approach is designed to prevent further academic disruption for the examinees.

Key Courses Affected and Administrative Logic

The professional courses impacted by this large-scale rescheduling include major programmes such as:

  • BTech
  • LLB
  • BPEd and BEd
  • MBA
  • Various other allied programmes

University officials explained that the changes were imperative to accommodate the administrative demands of the election process. During polls, a substantial number of teaching and non-teaching staff are deployed for election duty, making it challenging to conduct examinations simultaneously.

Separate Rescheduling for BA Semester-II Paper

In a separate but concurrent announcement, Nagpur University has also issued a revised schedule for the BA Semester-II (NEP) examination. This revision addresses technical issues that marred an earlier test. The Open Elective-I paper, which was held on December 10, 2025, could not be conducted properly due to these glitches.

According to the new notification, this paper will now be re-conducted on December 24, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm. The examination will take place at the originally assigned centres. Importantly, students are required to appear only for the Open Elective-I paper, providing them with a clear and focused retake opportunity.

The university has strongly advised all students to regularly check official notifications and the updated timetables on its website. This vigilance is crucial to avoid any confusion and to ensure timely preparation for the newly scheduled examinations.
