MSU Vadodara Disburses Rs 39.24 Lakh to Fuel Student-Led Innovation and IP Initiatives

In a significant move to bolster academic entrepreneurship, the Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) in Vadodara has disbursed a total of Rs 39.24 lakh under the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) 2.0. This funding is specifically designed to support student-led innovation and intellectual property initiatives, marking a robust commitment to fostering research-driven development within the university ecosystem.

Funding Breakdown for PoC Projects and IPR Filings

The allocated amount covers 19 proof-of-concept (PoC) projects and 17 proposals for intellectual property rights (IPR) filings. This strategic distribution aims to promote both practical entrepreneurship and academic research among students. Of the total disbursement, Rs 28.37 lakh has been earmarked for PoC projects, while Rs 10.86 lakh is dedicated to IPR proposals. To ensure timely execution, the university has already released 40% of the sanctioned funds in the first phase, facilitating a smooth kickstart for these innovative endeavors.

MSU Vice-Chancellor Prof Bhalchandra Bhanage personally handed over sanction letters to the student innovators during a ceremony.
