Lucknow University Expands Pharmaceutical Education with New M.Pharma Programs
In a significant boost to higher education in the pharmaceutical sciences, Lucknow University has announced the introduction of two new postgraduate programs: M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics and M.Pharma in Pharmacology. These courses will be offered at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, situated on the university's new campus, starting from the 2026–27 academic session.
Approval and Infrastructure Standards
The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has granted official approval for these programs, marking a major milestone for the institute. This approval confirms that the infrastructure, laboratories, and research facilities at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences meet the rigorous standards set by the PCI. Each of the new M.Pharma programs will have 15 seats available for admission.
Renewal of Existing Programs
Alongside the launch of the new courses, the institute's existing undergraduate B.Pharma program and diploma D.Pharma course have also received approval for renewal from the PCI for the 2026–27 academic session. This ensures continuity and quality in the institute's educational offerings.

Vice Chancellor Prof. JP Saini emphasized the importance of these developments, stating, "The new courses will provide students with wider opportunities for advanced learning, research, and specialization in pharmaceutical sciences."
