LSR College's Tarang Fest 2026 Celebrates Self-Discovery with Navjot Ahuja Headlining
Amid the unpredictable Delhi weather that teased a potential downpour, Lady Shri Ram College for Women transformed its campus into a vibrant hub of glamour and energy for Tarang, its three-day annual festival. The event, themed Khud Se Mulaqat – meaning a meeting with oneself – drew hundreds of students who embraced the spirit of free-spirited self-expression.
Theme Reflects Student Journey and Campus Buzz
The theme Khud Se Mulaqat was carefully chosen to mirror the personal growth and introspection that students experience during their time at LSR. According to Srishti Singh, President of the Students’ Union, the festival aimed to represent the journey from the first semester to graduation. "Our team often talks about the process of finding ourselves," Singh explained. "That mulaqat with ourselves is what we want Tarang to embody through this theme."
The campus buzzed with activity as students showcased a mix of trendy and desi fashion fits, adding to the festive atmosphere. Food stalls offered a diverse array of culinary delights, ranging from ramen and kathi rolls to boba tea and ganne ka juice, catering to every palate.
Navjot Ahuja's Memorable Performance on Day 3
The highlight of Tarang 2026 was the headline performance by singer Navjot Ahuja on Day 3. Known for his popular single Khat, Ahuja captivated the audience with his impressive vocal range and engaging stage presence. His candid banter with the crowd created an intimate connection, making the performance stand out.
Ahuja shared the heartfelt story behind Khat, revealing that it was inspired by a first date in July 2025. "People think it's written for an ex, but I wrote Khat that same night when I got home," he told the audience. "I felt too much to not write. After a long time, I felt like I could fall in love." He added that while the person may not be the dedication, she was definitely the muse, quoting lyrics from the song.
In a special treat for fans, Ahuja performed an unreleased version of Khat, which garnered enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. He later applauded the students, exclaiming, "Isse loud maine yeh gaana pehle kabhi nahi suna honestly!" as they sang along to Bruno Mars' Die With A Smile in unison.
Other Performances and Cultural Highlights
The festival also featured other notable performances, including Vandana Pal's Sufi-Bollywood set, Vandana ki Bethak. Her strong vocals and engaging stage presence energized the audience with classics like Jugni Ji and Ishq Risk.
Professor Kanika K Ahuja expressed her pride in the event, stating, "At LSR, we often say there's magic in the air, and Tarang 2026 embodied it completely. I hope the spirit of Tarang stays with all of us." The festival served as a testament to the college's vibrant culture and the students' commitment to creativity and self-expression.
As Tarang 2026 concluded, it left a lasting impression on attendees, blending music, food, and theme-based activities into a memorable celebration of youth and identity in the heart of Delhi.
