The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced the release of the provisional seat allotment result for Karnataka NEET PG 2025 round 2 counselling. Candidates who participated in the second round can now check their status on the official website. Notably, the authority has advanced the result declaration by one day from the previously announced schedule.
Revised Schedule and Final Allotment Process
According to the latest update, the provisional round 2 seat allotment result was published on December 23, 2025. The final allotment result for this round is now scheduled for declaration on December 24, 2025. KEA has stated that it will re-run the round 2 allotment process before releasing the final list. This step is crucial to incorporate seats that become vacant after candidates surrender their KEA-allotted seats to join colleges allocated through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) counselling.
KEA clarified that this re-allotment will be conducted using the options already submitted by candidates during the round 2 choice filling. No fresh options or modifications will be permitted at this stage. The aim is to ensure a fair and transparent process where all surrendered and cancelled seats are considered for final allocation.
Key Instructions for Candidates
Candidates who wish to join seats allotted through MCC counselling must formally surrender their KEA-allotted seats. This surrender must be done in person at the KEA office in Bengaluru by 4 pm on December 23, 2025. Failure to complete this process within the stipulated deadline may attract penalties.
The authority has also detailed the financial procedure for seat surrender:
- Candidates who have already paid the counselling fee will have Rs 25,000 deducted at the time of surrender. The remaining amount will be refunded within one day.
- Candidates who have not paid the fee will be required to pay Rs 25,000 while surrendering their seats.
Major Revision in Round 3 Eligibility
In a significant update following recent court directions and coordination with MCC, KEA has revised the eligibility criteria for round 3 counselling. Candidates who have been allotted and admitted to seats in round 2 will now be permitted to participate in round 3 for seat upgradation.
This marks a change from the earlier guideline in the NEET PG 2025 information bulletin, which barred candidates allotted clinical seats in the second round from further counselling. KEA has emphasized that all candidates allotted seats in round 2 must compulsorily complete the admission process by paying the prescribed fee, irrespective of the seat category, to be eligible for any subsequent rounds.
