IIT BHU Wins TOLIC Award for Hindi Implementation

The Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) in Varanasi has been recognised for its exemplary efforts in promoting the official language. The institute was honoured with a prestigious award on Friday for its dedicated work in the field of Hindi implementation.

Recognition at Banaras Locomotive Works Ceremony

The award ceremony took place at the Technical Training Centre within the Banaras Locomotive Works complex. The Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) in Varanasi presented the honour to IIT BHU. The committee specifically acknowledged the institute's outstanding work in the field of the official language.

Institute Leadership Receives the Honour

A delegation from IIT BHU received the shield and certificate during the event. The team was led by Registrar Sumit Kumar Biswas and included Deputy Registrar (Official Language) Amit Kumar Singh. Senior translator Shashank Pathak was also part of the delegation that accepted the award on behalf of the institute.

Credit Given to Director's Leadership

According to an official spokesperson from IIT BHU, the credit for this significant achievement goes directly to the institute's director. Professor Amit Patra has provided consistent guidance to the Official Language Cell. Under his leadership, the cell has been working continuously towards the effective implementation of Hindi across all aspects of the institute's functioning.

The award highlights the institute's commitment to complying with the Government of India's official language policy. This recognition from TOLIC Varanasi serves as a testament to the systematic and dedicated efforts made by IIT BHU's administration and staff. Such initiatives strengthen the use of Hindi in technical and academic environments while maintaining educational excellence.
