The convocation ceremony at the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) transcended mere academic recognition, resonating deeply with narratives of unwavering discipline, profound self-belief, and remarkable perseverance. Beyond the distribution of medals and degrees, the event served as a powerful platform for top achievers to reflect on the personal values and challenging journeys that shaped their success.

A Diverse Cohort of Graduates

During the prestigious ceremony, a total of 807 students were conferred their degrees, representing a wide spectrum of specialized management programs. The breakdown included 504 graduates from the flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA), 55 from the Post Graduate Programme in Agri-Business Management (MBA-ABM), and 18 from the Doctoral Programme in Management.

Furthermore, 46 students graduated from the Post Graduate Programme in Sustainable Management (MBA-SM), 114 from the International Programme in Management for Executives, 64 from the Post Graduate Programme in Management for Working Executives, and six from the Executive Fellow Programme in Management. This diverse graduating class underscores IIM-L's commitment to fostering leadership across various sectors of the economy.

Voices of Excellence: Medalists Share Their Core Values

The ceremony spotlighted several outstanding students whose achievements were matched by their insightful reflections. J Soundarya from Chennai, a dual awardee of the Chairman's Gold Medal for the PGP programme and the IIM 1997 Reshma Sareen Excellence Award for the best girl student, identified adaptability as her paramount strength, a skill crucial in the dynamic field of management.

Vanshita Goenka, originally from Rajasthan but based in Delhi, secured the director's Medalist for holding the second position in the PGP and also received the Reshma Sareen Excellence Award. She emphasized the critical importance of maintaining balance and prioritizing self-care throughout the rigorous academic journey.

Hailing from Patna, Bihar, Sanchita, a PGP Chairman's Medalist for securing the third position in the batch of 2026, attributed her success to unwavering consistency and active engagement in classroom discussions. As a fresher, she is now poised to begin her career with a public policy consulting firm.

Celebrating All-Round Achievement and Resilience

Gargi Mheskar from Pune was honored with the Hari Shankar Singhania Medal for best all-rounder, recognized for her holistic approach to campus life. A former member of IIM-L's women's cricket and throwball teams, Gargi completed her undergraduate engineering at Pune Institute of Technology before pivoting to management to explore broader professional horizons.

In the sustainable management category, Rounak De from Cooch Behar, West Bengal, won the Chairman's Gold Medal in PGPSM by topping his program. He powerfully underscored the value of resilience, stating, "Consistency and persistence matter most—especially when the path is uncertain." His words encapsulated the spirit of the convocation, highlighting that true achievement is often forged in the face of ambiguity and challenge.
